"Point of No Return" is a song by German Eurodance group Centory, released by EMI Records in August 1994 as the lead single from the group's only album, ''Alpha Centory'' (1994). It features Durron Maurice Butler, known as Turbo B from Snap!, who also co-wrote the lyrics. Alex Trime and Sven "Delgado" Jordan produced the track. Chart performance "Point of No Return" was a sizeable hit in Europe, becoming a top 10 hit in both Finland (10) and Italy (9). Additionally, it peaked at number 16 in Germany, number 18 in Austria and number 19 in France. In the United Kingdom, the single reached number 67 in its first week at the UK Singles Chart, on December 11, 1994. On the Eurochart Hot 100, it peaked at number 57 in October 1994, while reaching number six on the European Dance Radio Chart in December same year. Centory was a German Eurodance group consisting of Gary Carolla, Alexander Strasser, Sven Kirschner, and Turbo B. Centory released one album, ''Alpha Centory'', in 1994. It featured the singles "Point of No Return", "Take It to the Limit", "The Spirit" and "Eye in the Sky". Centory also remixed two songs, "Mercy" and "Heart of Me" for a remix album by Cerrone. The band's last work was the single "Girl You Know It's True (song), Girl You Know It's True" released in 1996. MCM is a French music video TV channel owned by Groupe MCM. It was started in 1989 by Groupe Europe 1 following the MTV model, as the French version of MTV. MCM broadcasts three encrypted music TV channels "MCM France", "MCM Pop" and "MCM Top" as part of the "CanalSat France" subscription TV package from the Astra 19.2°E cluster of direct-to-home broadcast satellites at the 19.2 degrees East orbital position. VIVA (German TV Channel)
VIVA (abbreviation for: translating to "Video Exploitation Facility") was a German free-to-air music television channel, first broadcast on 1 December 1993. The channel was intended to compete against MTV Europe and was the first German-language music TV channel, while MTV was only broadcast in English until the introduction of MTV Germany in 1997. It was also supposed to focus more on German music and pop culture while MTV only broadcast anglophone music by artists mostly from North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia. After years of competition for audience share, MTV Networks Europe eventually acquired VIVA on 14 January 2005 after it had outrun its own efforts for better ratings.
