''Poetic Justice'' is a studio album by the American glam metal band Lillian Axe, released in 1992. It was the first featuring drummer Gene Barnett and bassist Darrin DeLatte; they replaced Danny King and Rob Stratton. It was also the band's first release on I.R.S. Records, after being dropped by MCA Records. It was recorded at Sheffield Audio-Video Productions in Phoenix, Maryland, and The Terminal in Jackson, Mississippi. Lillian Axe is an American hard rock band from New Orleans, Louisiana, best known for its major label albums, ''Lillian Axe'', ''Love + War'', ''Poetic Justice'' and ''Psychoschizophrenia''. Originally formed in 1983, the group is still active, though only the guitarist Steve Blaze and bassist Michael Max Darby remain from the original lineup. History The band's origins are based in the New Orleans based band Oz which guitarist Steve Blaze joined in the early 1980s, which included Rick Bohrer on vocals, Orlando "Ace" Palacio on guitar, Michael "Maxx" Darby on bass guitar, and Jeff Savelle on drums. No Matter What (Badfinger Song)
"No Matter What" is a song originally recorded by Badfinger for their album ''No Dice'' in 1970, written and sung by Pete Ham and produced by Mal Evans. Recording As a demo, "No Matter What" was originally recorded at a slower tempo by Ham on acoustic guitar (as heard on the posthumous Ham solo CD ''7 Park Avenue''). A group demo version, played at the same tempo as Ham's acoustic demo, was recorded by Badfinger on April 18, 1970 with Mal Evans producing. The song was recorded again in a rockier fashion, at a faster tempo, by the band in May 1970 at Abbey Road Studios and it was this version that appeared on the album and single. Although the song and recording was a favourite of Badfinger's shortly after it was completed, the hierarchy at Apple reportedly was not inclined to release it in any format. Badfinger
Badfinger were a Welsh rock band formed in Swansea, who were active from the 1960s to the 1980s. Their best-known lineup consisted of Pete Ham (vocals, guitar), Mike Gibbins (drums), Tom Evans (bass), and Joey Molland (guitar). They are recognised for their influence on the 1970s power pop genre. It is estimated that the band sold 14 million records. The band renamed themselves Badfinger, after the working title for the Beatles' 1967 song "With a Little Help from My Friends" ("Bad Finger Boogie"). Pete Ham
Peter William Ham (27 April 1947 – 24 April 1975) was a Welsh singer, songwriter and guitarist best known as a lead vocalist of and composer for the 1970s rock band Badfinger, whose hit songs include " No Matter What", " Day After Day" and "Baby Blue". He also co-wrote the ballad " Without You", a worldwide number-one hit for Harry Nilsson that has become a standard covered by hundreds of artists. Ham was granted two Ivor Novello Awards related to the song in 1973. Ham died by suicide in 1975 at the age of 27, when he became depressed while embroiled in band-related issues, such as label and management problems, as well as a lack of funds. The emotional scar his death left on Badfinger eventually led to the suicide of former bandmate Tom Evans in 1983. Early life Ham was born in Swansea, Wales. Glam metal (also known as hair metal or pop metal) is a subgenre of heavy metal that features pop-influenced hooks and guitar riffs, upbeat rock anthems, and slow power ballads.
