Irene De Miguel
Irene de Miguel Pérez (born 9 May 1981) is a Spanish Podemos politician. She was elected to the Assembly of Extremadura in 2015, and has led Podemos Extremadura in the legislature since 2019. Biography Born in Madrid, De Miguel qualified as an agricultural engineer at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. In 2011, she moved to the remote Las Villuercas comarca of the Province of Cáceres, Extremadura to cultivate specialist fruit trees. She was one of six Podemos members elected to the Assembly of Extremadura in 2015. In November 2018, De Miguel received 93% of the votes to lead Podemos in the 2019 Extremaduran regional election. She ran in the Badajoz constituency this time, and her party dropped to four seats. Podemos (Spanish Political Party)
Podemos (, translated in English as "We Can"), * ca, Podem, * gl, Podemos, is a left-wing populist political party in Spain. Part of the anti-austerity movement in Spain, it was founded in January 2014 by political scientist Pablo Iglesias Turrión and other academics in the aftermath of the 15-M Movement protests against inequality and corruption. In the 2014 European Parliament election in Spain, Podemos won 8.0% of the vote and five seats. The newly founded party's big impact received significant media attention, having defied the odds and polls, while major parties lost out. By October 2014, Podemos was the second largest political party in Spain by number of members after the People's Party. On 9 May 2016, Podemos formed the Unidos Podemos electoral alliance with the United Left, Equo, and regionalist left-wing parties.

Assembly Of Extremadura
The Assembly of Extremadura (Spanish: ''Asamblea de Extremadura''; also called ''Parlamento de Extremadura'') is the elected unicameral legislature of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura. The electoral period is four years. The Assembly of Extremadura is seated at the old Hospital of San Juan de Dios, in Mérida, the capital of the autonomous community. Extremadura
Extremadura (; ext, Estremaúra; pt, Estremadura; Fala: ''Extremaúra'') is an autonomous community of Spain. Its capital city is Mérida, and its largest city is Badajoz. Located in the central-western part of the Iberian Peninsula, it is crossed from east to west by the Tagus and Guadiana rivers. The autonomous community is formed by the two largest provinces of Spain: Cáceres and Badajoz. Extremadura is bordered by Portugal to the west and by the autonomous communities of Castile and León (north), Castilla–La Mancha (east) and Andalusia (south).
