Plymouth High School (North Carolina)
Plymouth High School is a public high school located in Plymouth, North Carolina, United States. It is one of two high schools, along with Creswell High School, that are a part of Washington County Schools. It became Washington County High School. The student body is predominantly African American. Panthers are the school mascot. Football The Plymouth Vikings football team had an active streak of making the NCHSAA State 1-A football championship game in five consecutive years (2012–2016), and made six appearances overall. The team won championships in 2007, 2012, and 2015. Accident On July 30, 1997, ten members of the Plymouth High School marching band were killed when their vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer truck while returning to band camp from their lunch break.Meehan, Mary. William Barber II
William J. Barber II (born August 30, 1963) is an American Protestant minister and social activist. He is the president and senior lecturer at Repairers of the Breach and co-chair of the Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. He also serves as a member of the national board of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and is the chair of its legislative political action committee. From 2006 to 2017, Barber served as president of the NAACP's North Carolina state chapter, the largest in the Southern United States and the second-largest in the United States. Charles Bowser (born October 2, 1959) is a former American football linebacker who played four seasons in the National Football League for the Miami Dolphins.
