Kelvin Mercer (born August 17, 1969), also known by his stage name Posdnuos and occasionally Pos, is an American rapper and producer from East Massapequa, New York best known for his work as one-third of the hip hop trio De La Soul. Through his work with the group, Mercer is considered to be one of the most consistent and underrated MCs of all time. Beginning with the highly acclaimed ''3 Feet High and Rising'' in 1989, Mercer has gone on to release nine albums with De La Soul. ''Demon Days'' is the second studio album by British virtual band Gorillaz. It was first released on 11 May 2005 in Japan and on 23 May 2005 in the United Kingdom by Parlophone and in the United States by Virgin Records. Ângelo César do Rosário Firmino, better known by the stage name Boss AC (born January 20, 1975) is a Portugal, Portuguese rapper originally from Cape Verde. The letters A and C, in Boss AC, come from the initials of his two names, Ângelo and César, respectively. Career His most popular songs include "Dinero", "Baza Baza", and "Doa a Quem Doer". Although he lives in Portugal, he spends a lot of his time in Africa, especially Angola. He has collaborated with many Angolan rappers, most notably Gutto, with whom he worked on "Dinero". ''Dancehall Places'' is the second studio album by English electronic dance music duo Mint Royale, which was released on 28 October 2002 on Faith & Hope. Reception BBC's ''Collective'' gave solid approval to the album, commenting, "Dancehall Places is filled with 'paaarty toons' which put you in a dancing mood even if they are a bit cheesy." Mint Royale
Mint Royale is the alias of electronic music producer Neil Claxton and, until 2004, a duo consisting of himself and Chris Baker, originating from Manchester, England. It was founded by Claxton and Baker in 1997. Baker left the band in 2004, but Claxton continued to produce music under the pseudonym "Mint Royale" until 2016. In 2020, Claxton returned to releasing music under the Mint Royale name. Career 1997–2001: Early success and first album Mint Royale first specialised in remixes, and became known after the release of their mix of "Tequila" by Terrorvision was a number 2 hit in the charts. ''Hip Hop for Respect'' was a 2000 project which released one EP for Rawkus Records. It was organized by Mos Def and Talib Kweli to speak out against police brutality in general, and the case of Amadou Diallo in particular. History Amadou Diallo had been shot and killed by the New York City Police Department the previous year when he attempted to retrieve his wallet and the police fired 41 shots at the unarmed man, so the subject of police brutality was prevalent. Rawkus Records was an American hip hop record label known for starting the careers of many rappers. Rawkus started in 1995 with releases in hip-hop, drum and bass and fun-dustrial (Dystopia One). Label heads Brian Brater and Jarret Myer then signed some of the top underground talent from the New York area, notably Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek and Company Flow, who went on to define the label's sound. The string of 12" releases and full-length albums that followed helped initiate a resurgence in the New York/ East Coast sound. Many of these are considered classics among hip-hop aficionados.
