Play Radio UK
Play Radio UK was a British internet radio station based on the South Coast of England. Its output comprised two mainstream music radio streams, a talk radio stream, and several other genre-specific music streams. On 4 July 2009, Play Radio UK launched an FM service in Southampton and Winchester. Liquidation Play Radio UK went into liquidation at 10:00 a.m. on Friday 18 September 2009, although the Southampton services are operated under a separate company and (as of 1 October 2009) are not affected. The company was part directed by David Reynolds, who was charged with £1.2million tax fraud in June 2008, and was part of Something.info. The FM licences and assets were acquired by Celador. The FM stations were renamed The Breeze. Online radio (also web radio, net radio, streaming radio, e-radio, IP radio, Internet radio) is a digital audio service transmitted via the Internet. Broadcasting on the Internet is usually referred to as webcasting since it is not transmitted broadly through wireless means. It can either be used as a stand-alone device running through the Internet, or as a software running through a single computer. Internet radio is generally used to communicate and easily spread messages through the form of talk. It is distributed through a wireless communication network connected to a switch packet network (the internet) via a disclosed source. James Whale (radio Presenter)
Michael James Whale (born 13 May 1951) is an English radio personality, television presenter, podcast host and author. He gained initial prominence in the 1980s as the host of ''The James Whale Radio Show'' on Radio Aire in Leeds, which was simulcast on national television. From 1995 to 2008, Whale hosted a night time radio show on Talksport, talkSPORT (Talk Radio 1995–2000), followed by stints on LBC, LBC 97.3 and various BBC radio stations. Simon Darby
Simon Darby (born 8 November 1964) is a British politician and former deputy chairman of the British National Party. Background By occupation a communications consultant, Darby began his political career in the National Democrats, most of whose activity was centred on his West Midlands base. Darby joined the BNP when his local National Democrat group defected to the party en bloc. He soon became associated with the modernising wing of the party led by Nick Griffin. He was appointed local organiser following Griffin's election as leader, and was courted for membership by the Freedom Party on its foundation, although he refused to leave the BNP. John Radford (wine Writer)
John Radford, born in Nottingham on 1 December 1946, died on 19 October 2012, was a British writer and broadcaster in the field of wine and food, with an emphasis on Spain. He was educated at Stamford School in Lincolnshire. Career After a background in the food and drink industry and retail, Radford's writing career started with children's comics, principally for the Dundee publishing house of D. C. Thomson & Co., with ''Judy'' comic for girls, for which he wrote a good deal of the annuals from 1978 to 1985 as well as the weekly paper. Iain Campbell Dale (born 15 July 1962) is a British broadcaster, author and political commentator, and a former publisher and book retailer. He has been a blogger since 2002. Duncan Barkes
Duncan Barkes is a radio presenter who has worked for a number of British talk radio stations including LBC, talkSPORT, BBC Radio Five Live and BBC Radio London. Greatest Hits Radio is a classic hits radio network in the United Kingdom, owned and operated by Bauer. Overview The network launched on 5 January 2015 as the "Bauer City 2 Network", and rebranded on 7 January 2019 due to the success of Radio City 2 in Liverpool on FM. Patrick Sharpin, known professionally as Pat Sharp (born 25 October 1961), is an English radio presenter, television presenter and DJ. In the UK, he is known mainly for his work on the children's ITV programme ''Fun House'', and his extensive radio career. Mike Mendoza (broadcaster)
Michael David Mendoza (born 1 November 1948) is a British radio presenter and former politician best known for the overnight radio shows he presented on Talksport between 2004 and 2008, initially on weeknights before being moved to weekends in 2006. Mike joined TalkSport after eleven years as overnight presenter with London's LBC. He is also known for fearing Talkradio presenter Iain Lee. Mendoza later joined his former Talksport colleague George Galloway on the Iranian government-funded news channel Press TV, presenting a thirteen-week television series entitled ''Off the Cuff'' for which he received a substantial payment from the Iranian government.
