''Platinum Christmas'' is a 2000 holiday album released by Jive Records on November 14, 2000. "My Gift to You" by Donell Jones appears only in the North American release, in the rest of the world Jones's song has been replaced by "Perfect Christmas" by S Club 7. It was followed with two further compilations, ''Platinum Christmas II'' in 2004, and ''Platinum Christmas III'' in 2006, both were released in Canada only. Singles " My Only Wish (This Year)", by Britney Spears, was released as promotional single on November 14, 2000. The song appeared in the Danish Singles Chart on December 26, 2008 and peaking at number 14 in 2017. It charted in Slovakia, on December 28, 2009, at number 54. It made its first appearance on ''Billboard'' Holiday/Seasonal Digital Songs on November 27, 2010, peaking at number 49 as a result of digital downloads. "This Christmas" is a song by American soul musician Donny Hathaway released in 1970 by Atco Records. The song gained renewed popularity when it was included in 1991 on Atco Records' revised edition of their 1968 ''Soul Christmas'' compilation album and has since become a modern Christmas standard, with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers reporting that it was the 30th most-performed holiday song of all time. Phil Upchurch said the song was "absolutely the premiere holiday song written by an African American". It was written by Hathaway and Nadine McKinnor. Steps are a British dance-pop group consisting of Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian "H" Watkins. Steps were formed in May 1997 and achieved a series of charting singles between 1997 and 2001 including two number-one singles in the UK (one a double A-side), two number-one albums in the UK, 14 consecutive top 5 singles in the UK and a string of hits throughout Europe. "The Little Drummer Boy" (originally known as "Carol of the Drum") is a popular Christmas song written by American composer Katherine Kennicott Davis in 1941. First recorded in 1951 by the Trapp Family, the song was further popularized by a 1958 recording by the Harry Simeone Chorale; the Simeone version was re-released successfully for several years, and the song has been recorded many times since. In the lyrics, the singer relates how, as a poor young boy, he was summoned by the Magi to the Nativity of Jesus.
