Planta (song)
"Planta" (Spanish language, Spanish for ''Plant'') is a song of the Argentine rock music, rock band Soda Stereo, written and composed by Gustavo Cerati and Zeta Bosio. It was edited in their seventh and last studio album ''Sueño Stereo'' in 1995 as track 10. Lyrics The lyrics is written as a very metaphorical poem, and apparently talking on a hallucinogenic plant (drug). Never pronounced the word "" (), but the lyrics referred it with phrases like "" (), "" (). Music The song begins right at the end of the previous song, "Crema de Estrellas" ("Cream of Stars"), as they are non-stop musical unit. The song is divided into two, with the first part without the drums (only cymbals), with a prominent participation of the bass guitar and a delicate guitar riff; and the second part with drums and a guitar rhythm that takes a leading role. Gustavo Cerati
Gustavo Adrián Cerati (11 August 1959 – 4 September 2014) was an Argentine singer-songwriter, composer and producer, considered one of the most important and influential figures of Ibero-American rock. Cerati along with his band Soda Stereo, were one of the most popular and influential rock and pop groups of the 1980s and 1990s. Cerati was the recipient of many awards throughout his career including various Grammys, MTV awards, as well as the MTV (Latin America) Legend Award with Soda Stereo, the first of its kind. On 15 May 2010, Cerati suffered a massive brain stroke in Caracas following a concert; the stroke left him in a coma, and four years later, on 4 September 2014, Cerati died of cardiac arrest in Buenos Aires aged 55. Riff
A riff is a repeated chord progression or refrain in music (also known as an ostinato figure in classical music); it is a pattern, or melody, often played by the rhythm section instruments or solo instrument, that forms the basis or accompaniment of a musical composition. Zeta Bosio
Héctor Juan Pedro Bosio Bertolotti (born 1 October 1958) better known by his stage name Zeta Bosio, is an Argentine rock music, rock musician, record producer and disc jockey (DJ), better known as the bassist of the Argentine rock band Soda Stereo. He was also the bassist of Chilean band La Ley (band), La Ley between 2013 and 2014. Nowadays he plays in the band Shoot the Radio, which he co-founded. Bosio, along with Gustavo Cerati and Charly Alberti, formed Soda Stereo in 1982. They recorded over a dozen records until they disbanded in 1997.
