Plankeye
Plankeye was an American Christian alternative rock band and one of Tooth & Nail Records' greatest successes during the 1990s and early 2000s. Plankeye's style could be defined as melodic post-grunge combined with indie and alternative elements. Their first few albums also incorporated a fair amount of punk rock elements, but this aspect faded when original singer Scott Silletta left the band. History In 1994, Plankeye released ''Spill'', their first album, which was able to garner enough sales to catch the interest of Tooth and Nail Records. ''Spill'' was re-released on Tooth and Nail, as Plankeye went into the studio again to record a slightly less aggressive album, ''The Spark''. In 1996, Plankeye released ''Commonwealth'', which introduced a more polished and mature sound. Over the course of the next year, the group toured constantly, opening for the Newsboys. Shane Valdez
Shane Valdez (born July 25, 1972), is an American drummer, drum technician, music producer, and songwriter. About Shane Valdez started his music career in 1991 in the hardcore band Hold True which recorded a demo in 1992 which was later remixed, remastered and released as an E.P. CD on Lost & Found Records in 1995. While studying music business at Fullerton College, Shane engineered and produced a demo for the band Outnumbered who were subsequently signed to Tooth & Nail Records. In January 1994, Shane joined the hardcore band Bonesaw Previously signed to Nemesis Records, Bonesaw jumped to Lost & Found Records based in Germany and subsequently recorded the CD "abandoned" which was released in June 1994. At this time Shane began endorsing Vans shoes and the now defunct company Rimshot Drumsticks. In the fall of 1994, Shane and Bonesaw completed an eight-country European tour to support the CD. Never Say Dinosaur
''Never Say Dinosaur'' is a tribute album dedicated to Christian rock band Petra. The album includes 11 revisions and re-imaginings of classic Petra songs and one original composition by Kevin Smith of DC Talk. ''Dinosaur'' contained an eclectic lineup of artists which, at the time, highlighted "some of the best new bands in Christian music." The album title is a pun on Petra's fourth studio album, '' Never Say Die''. It is also a pun on the title of Petra's irrelevance and age, who at the time had been performing for nearly twenty-five years, by rejecting comparisons of the band with extinct dinosaurs. The album was released by Star Song Records in 1996. They worked with the band during most of the 1980s through part of the band's most successful tenure. Tooth & Nail Records is a Christian rock record label founded by Brandon Ebel in California in November 1993. The label later moved to Seattle, Washington where it is situated today. It is home to many well-known musical acts, including Underoath, Hawk Nelson, Emery, The Almost, FM Static, Family Force 5, Anberlin, and MxPx. Tooth & Nail's first album released was Wish for Eden's ''Pet the Fish'', which was produced by Michael Knott and originally slated to be released by Blonde Vinyl. Subsequent releases from The Juliana Theory, MxPx, and Starflyer 59 made Tooth & Nail a strong force in Christian music circles, as well as a niche underground subculture in itself. BEC (Brandon Ebel Company) Recordings is a Christian rock record label that is an imprint of Tooth & Nail Records. The label was formed in 1997 in partnership with the EMI Christian Music Group. Insyderz
The Insyderz were an American Christian ska-punk band from Detroit, Michigan. They formed in 1996 and disbanded in 2005. The band reformed in 2009, but have not been actively playing shows in the last few years. The Insyderz are one of the "big three" bands which represented the Christian ska scene, alongside the Supertones and Five Iron Frenzy. Newsboys (sometimes stylised as newsboys) are a Christian rock band founded in 1985 in Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia, by Peter Furler and George Perdikis. Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, the band has released 17 studio albums, 6 of which have been certified gold.
