"Planetarium" (プラネタリウム ''Puranetariumu'') is Ai Otsuka's tenth single, which was released on 21 September 2005. The single had great success and became Otsuka's second #1 hit on the Oricon charts, selling 316,425 copies. In 2005, ''Planetarium'' sold 215,114 copies, making it the #41 best-selling single of the year. However, it still charted into the next year and was the #99 best-selling single in 2006, selling 100,555 copies. ''Planetarium'' is her second best-selling single after "Sakuranbo." Ai Otsuka
is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Suminoe-ku, Osaka, Japan. She is a popular artist on the Avex Trax label and is best known for her 2003 hit "Sakuranbo", which stayed in the Top 200 Oricon Weekly Singles Chart for 103 weeks. A piano player since age four, Otsuka composes and co-produces her own songs, as well as writes her own lyrics. Her music ranges from upbeat pop/rock music to ballads. Every year, Otsuka also has her own ''Love is Born'' tour to mark the anniversary of being in the music industry and her birthday in September. All of the ''Love is Born'' concerts take place in Japan, ending in her hometown of Osaka. , is a Japanese ''shōjo'' manga series written and illustrated by Yoko Kamio and set in Tokyo, Japan, and the fictional "Eitoku Academy" (an elite school for children from rich families). ''Love Cook'' is Ai Otsuka's third album released on 14 December 2005 under the Avex Trax record label. It was released in four formats: CD only, CD+DVD, CD+Photobook and CD+Picture Book. The latter two are limited to 150,000 copies each, and feature different sleeve case covers. The picture book illustrations are hand-drawn by Ai herself. Three singles were released before the album: double A-Sided " Smily / Biidama", " Neko ni Fūsen" and " Planetarium". "Smily / Biidama" and "Planetarium" were the first two Ai Otsuka singles to reach the #1 spot in Oricon Weekly Singles Chart, and, having sold more than 300,000 copies each, are among her best-selling singles. Sakuranbo
__NOTOC__ is Ai Otsuka's second single, which was released on December 17, 2003. It is often considered as Otsuka's breakthrough single and was used in 2004 as an ending theme song on the TV show, "," which Fuji TV produces. Music video The video for "Sakuranbo" begins by showing Ai in "her" bedroom which is predominantly red and white. A picture hanging on the wall shows a picture of a pair of cherries. Then we see Ai playing with her band in another room, which starts out blue but changes colour later in the song. We see Ai talking on the phone and drawing Love-Chan. Interspersed throughout the PV are bicycle scenes showing Ai with a man her age, two children and an older couple. The video closes on the picture of the two cherries hanging on the wall. "Frienger" (フレンジャー; Furenjā) is Ai Otsuka's 11th single under the avex trax label and her first of three singles in 2006. "Frienger" is a catchy, upbeat song. The title is actually a portmanteau of the words "Friend" and "Ranger". The song was used in the CM for au mobile service and was the theme song for the television program "Sports Uruguzu". The B-side track, "Amai Kimochi Maru Kajiri", was used in a Music.jp CM. The music video for the song was filmed in Taiwan. "Frienger" debuted at #2 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart with 70,414 copies sold. It maintained high sales for the following two weeks and sold a total of 173,115 copies in 2006.
