Planet Prince 2021
is a 2021 Japanese tokusatsu science fiction superhero film directed by Minoru Kawasaki. It is a reboot of Toei's ''Planet Prince'' franchise and the second theatrical film adaptation of the series. Premise 200 years after his spaceship crashed landed on Earth. Planet Prince awakens from his sleep, rescuing the bakery's daughter Kimiko from a desperate pinch and deciding to stay at the bakery. As the planetary prince explored the earth, he interacted with the residents, occasionally replaced the top idols, and guarded the city from the alien invaders, the Turtans. The impact of the crash, however, caused most of his memory to be wiped out, and he had no idea how to return to the fourth planet. Although he became a hero, the Turtans later revealed that he was the universe's destroyer. Nana Oda, who worked with Sho Hinata on the former "Sakurazaka46", will play the role of the heroine and will play both Prince Planet and Kosuke Funaki. Minoru Kawasaki (film Director)
, born 15 August 1958, is a Japanese filmmaker, best known for low-budget parody films featuring surreal humour and traditional practical effects. Kawasaki began his career with mostly self-financed work, including the ''Den-Ace'' short films, featuring a parody of kyodai-style Japanese superheroes, before working on Tsuburaya Production's ''Ultraman Tiga'' (1996-1997). He had his first hit with '' The Calamari Wrestler'' (2004), about a wrestler who inexplicably becomes a giant squid. He followed this up with ''Executive Koala'' (2005), about an anthropomorphic koala salaryman who may or may not have murdered his wife, and '' Kabuto-O Beetle'' (also 2005), another wrestling-themed movie, this time with a giant stag beetle. Planet Prince
is a 1958 Japanese tokusatsu superhero television series created by Masaru Igami and produced by Senkosha, the series aired on NTV from November 4, 1958 to October 6, 1959, with a total of 49 episodes (comprising four separate adventures). It was created to capitalize on the success of Shintoho's Super Giant (Starman) movie series. In fact, the title hero (whose alter-ego was Waku-san, played by Toshio Mimura) bore a strong resemblance to Super Giant (known as "Starman" in the U.S.). The pair of Planet Prince theatrical featurettes, adapted from the Senkosha TV series, were produced by Toei Studios and filmed in black and white ToeiScope format. Toei produced two theatrical movies in 1959 that featured the Planet Prince character, but wearing a completely different, more streamlined costume (and goggled helmet) than the one worn in the tv series.
