Pișcolt
Pișcolt ( hu, Piskolt, Hungarian pronunciation: ) is a Communes of Romania, commune of 3,285 inhabitants situated in Satu Mare County, Crișana, Romania. It is composed of three villages: Pișcolt, Resighea (''Reszege'') and Scărișoara Nouă (''Piskolcliget''). The commune is located at the western limit of the county, at a distance of southwest of Carei and from the county seat, Satu Mare. The village Resighea was first attested in a document from 1215; as such, it is the oldest settlement in the county. The village Scărișoara Nouă was founded in 1924 by settlers who came from Scărișoara, Alba, Scărișoara, Alba County and other places in the Apuseni Mountains. Bishop Claudiu-Lucian Pop (born 22 July 1972 in Pișcolt, Satu Mare County, Romania) is a Romanian Greek Catholic Church, Romanian Greek Catholic hierarch as the Romanian Catholic Eparchy of Cluj-Gherla, Eparchial Bishop of Cluj-Gherla since 14 April 2021. Previously he served as the Titular Bishop of Mariamme and Curial bishop of Romanian Greek Catholic Major Archeparchy of Făgăraș and Alba Iulia since 21 November 2011 until 14 April 2021. Life Bishop Pop, after graduation of the school education and the Biological and Chemical Lyceum, joined the Chemical Faculty of the University of Bucharest in 1990, but one year later he began philosophical and theological studies in Rome, Italy in the Pontifical Romanian College (1991–1999), where he graduated Pontifical Urbaniana University and Pontifical Gregorian University. Carei (; , ; /, yi, , ) is a city in Satu Mare County, northwestern Romania, near the border with Hungary. The city administers one village, Ianculești ( hu, Szentjánosmajor). History The first mention of the city under the name of "Karul" dates from 1320, and as "Károly" in 1325, however, the city is known to have existed since 1264, as it was the domain of the Kaplony clan and the center of the Károlyi family's personal domain that settled in the region shortly after the arrival of the Hungarians. Scărișoara ( hu, Aranyosfő, german: Skerischora) is a commune located in Alba County, Transylvania, Romania.
