Pixi Plus
The Palm Pixi and Pixi Plus are multimedia smartphones, developed by Palm, Inc., Palm, which was purchased in 2010 by Hewlett-Packard, HP. The device is viewed as a successor to the Palm Centro smartphone and was Palm's second webOS device, after the Palm Pre. The phones were considered the smallest "smartphone" on the market and are able to browse the internet, and access Facebook and other social media sites, as well as online banking. The original Pixi was announced on September 8, 2009, on Palm's official blog and was released on November 15, 2009, on the Sprint Nextel, Sprint carrier network in the U.S. The Pixi Plus was announced at Consumer Electronics Show, CES in 2010. The Plus versions include WiFi and the ability to act as a 3G Mobile Hotspot (Wi-Fi), hotspot (sometimes known as MiFi). Palm, Inc
Palm, Inc. was an American company that specialized in manufacturing personal digital assistants (PDAs) and various other electronics. They were the designer of the PalmPilot, the first PDA successfully marketed worldwide, as well as the Treo 600, one of the first smartphones. Palm developed several versions of Palm OS for PDAs and smartphones. The company was also responsible for the first versions of webOS, the first multitasking operating system for smartphones, and enyo (software), enyo.js, a framework for HTML5 apps. In July 2010, Palm was purchased by Hewlett-Packard (HP) and in 2011 announced a new range of webOS products. However, after poor sales, HP CEO Léo Apotheker announced in August 2011 that it would end production and support of Palm and webOS devices, marking the end of the Palm brand after 19 years.
