Port Moody Secondary School is a public coeducational high school located in Port Moody, British Columbia. Pinetree Secondary School is a high school in School District 43 Coquitlam. It is located in Coquitlam, British Columbia across from Lafarge Lake, Town Centre Park and next to the David Lam Campus of Douglas College, Pinetree shares several facilities with the Coquitlam Parks and Leisure Services and Douglas College, namely the gymnasium and outdoor fields. Heritage Woods Secondary School is a coeducational high school located in Port Moody, British Columbia. In 2007, Heritage Woods celebrated their first graduating class. Summit Middle School is a grade 6 to 8 public middle school within School District 43 Coquitlam, British Columbia. Construction Construction of Summit started in 1997, as part of the NDP's cost-cutting initiative for new schools. Built to meet demand for school space created by a boom in the school-aged population, Summit was one of the first two schools to utilize new low-cost construction techniques — testing the processes, which were used on later schools in British Columbia. These cost 15% less per square meter of space than traditionally constructed schools. Summit Middle was completed by TASK construction management on August 14, 1998, ten and one half months from building excavation to occupancy, and was initially designed to hold 650 students. The school was founded in 1996, and is part of School District 43 Coquitlam. The school is located at 1240 Lansdowne Drive, halfway between Port Moody and Coquitlam Centre. The school sports teams are all called the Scott Creek Coyotes. The school principal is Lisa Rinke. History The school opened on September 30, 1996 with a student population of 718. It was named after Scott Creek; a creek adjacent to the school. The building has 6,033 square metres of area contained in two stories. The school property has two large fields with one baseball diamond, and several additional outdoor athletic facilities. On April 22, 2015 the school was a victim of a false bomb threat.
