''Ape Escape'' is a series of video games developed primarily by Japan Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, starting with ''Ape Escape'' for PlayStation in 1999. Japan Studio was a Japanese video game developer based in Tokyo. A first-party studio for Sony Interactive Entertainment (formerly Sony Computer Entertainment), it was best known for the ''Ape Escape'', ''LocoRoco'', '' Patapon'', ''Gravity Rush'' and '' Knack'' series, the Team Ico games, ''Bloodborne'', ''The Legend of Dragoon'', and ''Astro's Playroom''. ''Ape Academy 2'' (also known as ''Piposaru Academia 2: Aiai Sarugee Janken Battle!'' in Japan) is the sequel to the PlayStation Portable party game ''Ape Escape Academy''. Similar to its predecessor, ''Ape Academy 2'' is a collection of mini-games which can either be played in single player or multiplayer mode. Most of the mini-games borrow from elements of ''Ape Escape 3''. The game has been released in Japan, Europe and Australia except North America. Plot The primary antagonist, Specter, introduces a new card game which becomes very popular among humans and pipo monkeys alike. Using this card game, he dominates the world through culture manipulation, concurrently introducing a card battle contest for monkeys to complete in. Ape Escape 3
is a platform video game published and developed by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2 video game console. The game has been rated for release on PlayStation 4 but no announcement of its release has been made. Plot Specter, the Pipo Monkeys' leader, finds a Monkey Helmet, and hires the human scientist to aid him in his evil plans. They establish television stations protected by the Freaky Monkey Five where they plan to broadcast TV shows worldwide. The television shows that are broadcast on every television put every human except the twins, Kei and Yumi (Satoru and Sayaka outside of North America), their aunt Aki, and Natalie (Natsumi outside of North America) into a mindless trance.
