Pipat Thonkanya
Pipat Thonkanya ( th, พิพัฒน์ ต้นกันยา; ) born 4 January 1979 as Anon Thonkanya , in Udon Thani), is a Thai former football player. He was a forward. In 2009, he played for Persisam Samarinda in the Indonesian Super League. At the half way stage in the 2009 Thai Premier League season, he was joint second in the top goalscorers list with 7 goals. Pipat also had spells at AFC Champions League 2003 runners up BEC Tero Sasana F.C. and a spell in Vietnam. He was also instrumental in Buriram PEA F.C. winning the 2008 Thai Premier League. He scored 14 goals for the national team, including 2 goals in the 2007 Asian Cup, and was recently recalled to the national team, thanks to his good performances for Thai Port F.C. The 2008 Thai Premier League had 16 teams. It was the twelfth since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 18 February 2008, and the season ended on 11 October 2008. Three teams would be relegated to Thailand Division 1 League. The Champion in this season would qualify for the AFC Champions League 2009 qualification stage and the runner-up would be enter the AFC Cup 2009. The official name of the league at this time was Thailand Premier League. The 2000 AFF Championship, officially known as the 2000 Tiger Cup, was the third edition of the AFF Championship and was held in Thailand from 5 November 2000 to 18 November 2000. AFC Champions League
The AFC Champions League (abbreviated as ACL) is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation, and contested by Asia's top-division football clubs. The Thai League 1 ( th, ไทยลีก 1), often referred to as T1, is the top level of the Thai football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Thai League 2.
