Rawicz (; german: Rawitsch) is a town in west-central Poland with 21,398 inhabitants as of 2004. It is situated in the Greater Poland Voivodeship (since 1999); previously it was in Leszno Voivodeship (1975–1998). It is the capital of Rawicz County. Lejonen (the Lions) is a motorcycle speedway club from Gislaved in Sweden, who compete in the Elitserien. Their home track is at the OnePartnerGroup Arena which is Sweden's oldest track still in use. The club are two times champions of Sweden. History In December 1929 Gislaved Motorclub was formed and by 1931 the track was built. Lewis Alan Bridger (born 4 November 1989, in Hastings, Sussex) is a motorcycle speedway rider from England. Career Bridger stepped straight into Elite League racing from the Conference League after one season with the Weymouth Wildcats. His career includes spells with Eastbourne Eagles and Lakeside Hammers, who he re-signed for in February 2016. On 21 September 2007, Bridger was selected to represent Great Britain at the 2007 Under 21-World Cup Final. In 2006, he became British Under 18 Champion and in 2009 he won the British Under 21 Championship. On 20 November 2009, Bridger signed for Peterborough Panthers from his home town club Eastbourne Eagles. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). The Elite League was the top division of speedway league competition in the United Kingdom, governed by the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA).
