Piotr Więcek
Piotr Więcek (born 27 July 1990 in Płock, Poland) is a Polish drifting driver, currently a Worthouse Drift Team member. Career Więcek began drifting in 2010, signing a contract the following year with the Budmat Auto RB Team, which later became Budmat Auto Drift Team. Więcek competed for three titles in the European Drift Masters Grand Prix in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In 2017, he became a member of the Worthouse Drift Team. Together with their teammate James Deane, they began racing in Formula DRIFT (FD), considered to be the best drifting league in the world. Płock (pronounced ) is a city in central Poland, on the Vistula river, in the Masovian Voivodeship. Drifting (motorsport)
Drifting is a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers, with loss of traction, while maintaining control and driving the car through the entirety of a corner. The technique causes the rear slip angle to exceed the front slip angle to such an extent that often the front wheels are pointing in the opposite direction to the turn (e.g. car is turning left, wheels are pointed right or vice versa, also known as opposite lock or counter-steering). Drifting is traditionally done by clutch kicking (where the clutch is rapidly disengaged and re-engaged with the intention of upsetting the grip of the rear wheels), then intentionally oversteering and countersteering. This sense of ''drift'' is not to be confused with the ''four wheel drift'', a classic cornering technique established in Grand Prix and sports car racing. Formula DRIFT
Formula Drift (also known as Formula D) is a United States-based motorsport drifting series. Formula Drift, Inc. was co-founded by Jim Liaw and Ryan Sage in 2003 as a sister company to Slipstream Global Marketing, the same partnership that introduced D1 Grand Prix to the United States. The new entity would solely own, operate and launch the first official drifting series in North America. Formula D is not affiliated with the FIA series of formula racing championships.
