Piotr Nowakowski
Piotr Nowakowski (born 18 December 1987) is a Polish professional volleyball player, a former member of the Poland men's national volleyball team, Poland national team. A participant in the Olympic Games (2012 Summer Olympics, London 2012, 2016 Summer Olympics, Rio 2016, 2020 Summer Olympics, Tokyo 2020), two–time FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, World Champion (2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, 2014, 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, 2018), 2009 Men's European Volleyball Championship, 2009 European Champion, and the 2012 FIVB Volleyball World League, 2012 World League winner. At the professional club level, he plays for Projekt Warsaw. Personal life Nowakowski was born in Żyrardów, but he grew up in Międzyborów. On July 25, 2015 he married Aleksandra Wilczewska. Żyrardów
Żyrardów is a town and former industrial hub in central Poland with approximately 41,400 inhabitants (2006). It is the capital of Żyrardów County situated in the Masovian Voivodeship (since 1999); previously, it was in Skierniewice Voivodeship (1975–1998) west of Warsaw. Żyrardów, initially a textile settlement, was named after French engineer and inventor Philippe de Girard, who worked in the area. History Founded by the Łubieński brothers as a textile factory in 1833. One of the directors of the factory was French inventor Philippe de Girard (from Lourmarin). 2021 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League
The 2021 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League was the third edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League, an annual men's international volleyball tournament. The 2021 version of VNL was scheduled to start earlier than the previous edition due to the 2020 Summer Olympics in July. The competition was held between May and June 2021, and the final round took place in Rimini Fiera, Rimini, Italy. Brazil claimed their first VNL title after beating Poland in four sets. France sweeped Slovenia in three sets and grabbed the bronze medal. Both Wallace de Souza from Brazil and Bartosz Kurek from Poland named as MVPs of the tournament. Asseco Resovia Rzeszów
Resovia, officially known for sponsorship reasons as Asseco Resovia, is a professional men's volleyball club based in Rzeszów in southeastern Poland, founded in 1937. They compete in the Polish PlusLiga. The club has won seven Polish Champion titles, and three Polish Cups. They won four league titles in the 1970s, and the first title in the 21st century in 2012, which put an end to Skra Bełchatów's dominance in the PlusLiga which lasted for 7 consecutive seasons. PlusLiga
The PlusLiga is the highest level of men's volleyball in Poland, a professional league competition featuring volleyball clubs located in this country. It is overseen by Polska Liga Siatkówki SA (PLS SA). It is currently a 16 teams league from October to April/May. The regular season is followed by playoffs, with the winner earning the Polish Championship ( pl, Mistrzostwo Polski). It is one of the best volleyball leagues in Europe, being highly ranked in the international competitions. The Poland national men's volleyball team is controlled by the Polish Volleyball Federation, which represents the country in international competitions and friendly matches. 2021 Men's European Volleyball Championship
The 2021 Men's European Volleyball Championship was the 32nd edition of the Men's European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, CEV. For the second time, the EuroVolley was held in four countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia and Finland. The number of national teams that participated in the event remained to 24. In Poland, matches were played in Gdańsk, Katowice and Kraków. In Finland, matches were played in Tampere. In Czech Republic, matches were played in Ostrava. 2019 Men's European Volleyball Championship
The 2019 Men's European Volleyball Championship was the 31st edition of the Men's European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. For the first time the EuroVolley was held in four countries: France, Slovenia, Belgium and Netherlands. The tournament ran from 12 to 29 September 2019.
