Pink Mountaintops
Pink Mountaintops is a Canadian rock and roll band from Vancouver led by Stephen McBean. The band's first album, ''The Pink Mountaintops'', featured Amber Webber and Joshua Wells. The tracks varied from alt-country to indie rock. The band's recording ''Outside Love'' included contributions from members of several other bands. It was number one on the Canadian campus radio top 50 chart in May and again in June, 2009. Pink Mountaintop's fourth album, ''Get Back'', was released in 2014. Musicians included Annie Hardy, Greg Foremann, and Rob Barbato. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Joe Cardamone. Axis of Evol is the second album by Pink Mountaintops, released by Jagjaguwar in 2006. It was recorded in July 2005 at the Argyle Hotel and the Jackson Five House. Stephen McBean
Black Mountain is a Canadian psychedelic rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia. The band is composed of Stephen McBean, Jeremy Schmidt, Adam Bulgasem, Amber Webber, Arjan Miranda. Since forming in 2004, Black Mountain has released five LPs, '' Black Mountain'' (2005), ''In the Future'' (2008), ''Wilderness Heart'' (2010), '' IV'' (2016) and ''Destroyer'' (2019); two EPs and a number of singles, mostly on the Jagjaguwar label. Overview Early career Stephen (Gord) Gordon McBean (b. 1969), was born in Vancouver and grew up in Kleinburg and Sidney (BC). Jesse Sykes
Jesse Sykes (née Solomon) (born July 17, 1967) is an American singer and songwriter, best known for her band Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter, which was formed in 1999 with Phil Wandscher. Early life and education Sykes was born in Mount Kisco, New York, and grew up in Pound Ridge, New York. An obsession with Lynyrd Skynyrd drove her to purchase her first guitar at age 12. Sykes earned a BFA in photography from Rhode Island School of Design. Sykes moved to Seattle in 1990 after a brief stint in New York City. Sykes says that among her more memorable experiences in the '90s was meeting songwriter Townes Van Zandt after a Seattle show. Peafowl is a common name for three bird species in the genera '' Pavo'' and ''Afropavo'' within the tribe Pavonini of the family Phasianidae, the pheasants and their allies. Male peafowl are referred to as peacocks, and female peafowl are referred to as peahens, although peafowl of either sex are often referred to colloquially as "peacocks." Jagjaguwar is an American independent record label based in Bloomington, Indiana, with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Berlin. ''Pink Mountaintops'' is the debut album by Pink Mountaintops, released by Jagjaguwar in 2004. Tygh Runyan
Tygh Runyan (born June 13, 1976) is an actor and musician. Career Runyan has had a long career of character and supporting roles. His most notable roles are as Dr. Robert Caine in ''Stargate Universe'' and Fabien Marchal in ''Versailles''. His film work includes ''Disturbing Behavior'', ''Blonde'', ''Road to Nowhere'', and The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle. Kliph Scurlock
Clifton Thomas "Kliph" Scurlock (born June 16, 1973) is an American musician. He was the drummer and percussionist for alternative rock band The Flaming Lips from 2002 to 2014. Early life Scurlock was born in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Roger W. Scurlock (born ca. 1946) and Linda Louise Rokey (September 6, 1944 – July 17, 1981). His love of music was inspired by his mother. Linda Scurlock was in the first all-female mariachi band, Mariachi Estrella. She also gave him his first Beatles album, which was on 8-track tape.
