Palmerston is a planned satellite city of Darwin, the capital and largest city in Australia's Northern Territory. The city is situated approximately 20 kilometres from Darwin and 10 kilometres from Howard Springs and the surrounding rural areas. Palmerston had a population of 33,695 at the 2016 census, making it the second largest city in the Northern Territory. The City of Palmerston is a local government area of the Northern Territory of Australia. It contains the suburbs of Darwin's satellite city, Palmerston, and is situated between the outer industrial areas of Darwin and the rural areas of Howard Springs. Drysdale is an electoral division of the Legislative Assembly in Australia's Northern Territory. It was first created in 1997, and is named after Fred Drysdale, a former member of the Legislative Council. It is an urban electorate covering 5 km² in north-western Palmerston including the CBD and the suburbs of Driver, Gray, Yarrawonga and most of Moulden. There were 5,828 people enrolled within the electorate as of August 2020. Palmerston had long been considered a conservative stronghold, and for the first eight years of its life, Drysdale was considered to be a safe seat for the Country Liberal Party. Holtze is a locality of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. It is 22 km southeast of the Darwin CBD. Its local government area is the Municipality of Litchfield. The locality is mostly a rural area, just north Palmerston. It may have been named for Maurice William Holtze (1840–1923), the botanist who established Darwin's Botanical Gardens, or his son Nicholas, who succeeded him as curator. In September 2010, the Northern Territory Government announced that new Darwin’s prison precinct, Doug Owston Correctional Centre, would be built in Holtze about four kilometres north of Howard Springs Road. Tivendale, Northern Territory
__NOTOC__ Tivendale is a suburb in the Northern Territory of Australia located in Darwin about east of Darwin City. Tivendale consists of land bounded partly by the Tiger Brennan Drive in the north and the Adelaide-Darwin Railway in the north-east and the east, and partly in the south by the Hudson Creek. The name is derived from a nearby road called Tivendale Road which is itself named after Lyle Mason Tivendale, a Northern Territory resident who worked as a stock and meat inspector and as a health inspector during the first half of the twentieth century. Durack is an inner-city suburb of Palmerston. It is 22 km southeast of the Darwin CBD. Its local government area is the City of Palmerston. Durack is bound to the north by the Stuart Highway; to the west and south is University Avenue, and to the east is Roystonea Avenue.
