Pineia
Pineia (Greek: Πηνεία) is a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Ilida, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 148.572 km2. Its seat of administration was in the village Simopoulo. Pineia is named after the river Pineios, which forms its northern border. The area is hilly and sparsely populated. It is about 20 km east of Amaliada, 25 km northeast of Pyrgos and 45 km southwest of Patras. Simopoulo
Simopoulo ( el, Σιμόπουλο) is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Pineia, Elis, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Ilida. Simopoulo was the seat of the former municipality Pineia. It is situated in the sparsely populated hills of northern Elis. It is 5 km east of Efyra Efyra ( el, Εφύρα) is a village and a community in the western part of Pineia municipal unit, Elis, Greece. Efyra
Efyra ( el, Εφύρα) is a village and a community in the western part of Pineia municipal unit, Elis, Greece. It lies at an altitude of 121 metres, and covers an area of 12 km², of which 55% is arable and 20% is forest. It is situated southeast of the Pineios reservoir, and west of the river Pineakos Ladonas, which also flows into the Pineios reservoir. Efyra has a church dedicated to St. George. In 2001 the population was 266 for the village, and 268 for the community, which includes the village Pirio. Efyra is 2 km southeast of Kampos, 5 km west of Simopoulo and 21 km northeast of Pyrgos. Lasiona (Greek: Λασιώνα) is a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Archaia Olympia, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 119.528 km2. Its seat of administration was the village Antroni. Lasiona is situated in a mountainous area on the border with Achaea, 20 km north of Olympia, 27 km northeast of Pyrgos and 50 km south of Patras. Tritaia
Tritaia ( el, Τριταία) is a former municipality in Achaea, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Erymanthos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 244.798 km2. Population 3,086 (2011). The seat of the municipality was in Stavrodromi. Tritaia was named after the ancient Achaean city Tritaea, which was located near the present village Agia Marina. Tritaia is situated in mountainous southern Achaea, on the border with Elis. It nearly surrounds the municipal unit Kalentzi. Mount Erymanthos is located in the eastern part of Tritaia. The Greek National Road 33 ( Patras - Tripoli) runs through Tritaia. Elis (regional Unit)
Elis or Ilia ( el, Ηλεία, ''Ileia'') is a historic region in the western part of the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. It is administered as a regional unit of the modern region of Western Greece. Its capital is Pyrgos. Until 2011 it was Elis Prefecture, covering the same territory. The modern regional unit is nearly coterminous with the ancient Elis of the classical period. Here lie the ancient ruins of cities of Elis, Epitalion and Olympia, known for the ancient Olympic Games which started in 776 BC. Kalo Paidi
Kalo Paidi (Καλό Παιδί) is a village in the municipality of Pineia. It is located in Elis in western Greece. It's built on a small hill with a height of 280m. Kalo Paidi was established in the year 1800 (in the war by Turkey) by 4 shepherds that were trying to live in this area. Oleni
Oleni ( el, Ωλένη) is a village and a former municipality in Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pyrgos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 152.231 km2. The seat of the municipality was in Karatoula. The municipal unit was named after the ruined medieval town Olena, which also gave its name to the Bishopric of Olena. It consists of a wide valley around Karatoula and Magoula, and the hills west and east of the valley. It is located about 10 km northeast of Pyrgos, 13 km northwest of Olympia and 20 km southeast of Amaliada. The largest community is Goumero. Amaliada ( el, Αμαλιάδα, Katharevousa: Ἀμαλιάς, ''Amaliás'') is a town and a former municipality in northwestern Elis, West Greece, Greece.
