Pindi Club Ground
Pindi Club Ground, also known as the Army Sports Ground, is a multi-use stadium in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. It is used mostly for cricket matches. The stadium has the capacity to hold 15,000 people and hosted its first and only international Test match in 1965. It also hosted one match as part of the 1987 Cricket World Cup. It was the only cricket ground in Rawalpindi capable of hosting international matches before the establishment of Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in 1992. History The first ever double century here was scored in 1893 by the grandson of Queen Victoria, Prince Christian Victor, who was then posted in the army at Rawalpindi. He scored 205 runs against Devonshire Regiment while playing for King's Royal Rifles. Rawalpindi ( or ; Urdu, ) is a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is the fourth largest city in Pakistan after Karachi, Lahore and Faisalabad, and third largest in Punjab after Lahore and Faisalabad. Richie Richardson
Sir Richard Benjamin Richardson, KCN (born 12 January 1962) is a former West Indies international cricketer and a former captain of the West Indian cricket team. He was a flamboyant batsman and superb player of fast bowling. He was famous for his wide-brimmed maroon hat which he wore in preference to a helmet against even the fastest bowlers. Richardson captained the West Indies in 24 Tests between 1991 when he took over from Viv Richards and 1995, winning 11, losing 6, and the rest ending in draws. Ehsan Mani (Urdu: ; born 23 March 1945) is a Pakistani chartered accountant who is the former president of International Cricket Council (ICC) and former Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Early life Mani was born in Rawalpindi Pakistan into a Pashtun family. His early life was spent in Pakistan playing for the Rawalpindi Club and Government College Lahore XI from 1959 to 1965 as a right-hand batsman and a left-arm fast medium bowler before moving to the United Kingdom to complete his further studies. Pervez Sajjad Hasan (Urdu: پرویز سجاد حسن; born 30 August 1942, Lahore, Punjab) is a former Pakistani cricketer who played in 19 Tests from 1964 to 1973. Family He was one of seven brothers. One of his brothers was the Pakistan Test cricketer of the 1950s Waqar Hasan, and another was the film director and producer Iqbal Shehzad. His brother Waqar married Jamila Razaaq, the daughter of actress Sultana Razaaq, one of the earliest film actresses from India who acted both in silent movies and later in talkies. Jamila is also the granddaughter of India's first female film director, Fatima Begum and happens to be the great niece of Zubeida (the leading actress of India's first talkie film Alam Ara (1931)), who was the younger sister of her mother Sultana. New Zealand National Cricket Team
