Interscope Records
Interscope Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group through its Interscope Geffen A&M imprint. Founded in late 1990 by Jimmy Iovine and Ted Field as a $20 million joint venture with Atlantic Records of Warner Music Group and Interscope Communications, it differed from most record companies by letting A&R staff control decisions and allowing artists and producers full creative control. Its first hit records arrived in under a year, and it achieved profitability in 1993. Chair and CEO until May 2014, Iovine was succeeded by John Janick. Lito & Polaco
Lito & Polaco were a Puerto Rican hip hop duo from Carolina, Puerto Rico. Musical careers Lito y Polaco were discovered in the early 1990s by Spanish Hip Hop and Reggaeton pioneer DJ Eric Industry. They formed part of the hip hop/reggaeton group "La Industria" alongside MC Ceja, Jackie, TNT, Prieto Valdez and others. In 1998 Lito y Polaco became increasingly frustrated with their lack of pay and focus from DJ Eric being part of La Industria ( MC Ceja and Big Boy were DJ Eric's prime artists at the time), thus they decided to leave and form their famous duo, eventually signing with Pina Records in 1999. Edwin Batista Otero, better known musically as Jenay, was a Puerto Rican reggaeton artist. Jenay worked with singers such as Ñengo Flow, Ozuna, Trebol Clan, Juanka, and others. Death Jenay was killed in a Ford Explorer, consequence of a drive-by shooting at the age of 42 in Villa del Toa in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico in 2019. William Omar Landrón Rivera (born February 10, 1978), better known by his stage name Don Omar, is a Puerto Rican reggaeton singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer and actor. Sir Speedy (born Juan Antonio Ortiz Garcia) is a Puerto Rican reggaeton musician. Julio Voltio (born as Julio Irving Ramos Filomeno on June 11, 1977 in Santurce, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican former reggaeton artist. A pioneer of the reggaeton genre, Voltio retired from music in 2014 and dedicated himself to preaching Christianity. His nickname came to be as the result of an accident. Before joining Karel, he worked as an electrician. One day, he stuck his hand in the wrong place and got shocked. Everyone then called him "Bombillo" (Light Bulb) and "Corto Circuito" (Short Circuit), until eventually giving him a nickname that stuck: "Voltio" (Spanish word for volt).
