Pima County Public Library
The Pima County Public Library (PCPL) system serves Pima County, Arizona with a main library and 26 branch libraries as well as bookmobile service. The system has its headquarters in Tucson. The service area includes the city of Tucson and the surrounding communities of Arivaca, Green Valley, Sahuarita, South Tucson, Ajo, Vail, Marana, Casas Adobes, and Catalina. The town of Oro Valley's library joined the Pima County Public Library system in July 2012. Early History On July 8, 2014, in the ''Arizona Daily Star'' newspaper, historian David Leighton published news of his rediscovery of the first known public library in Tucson. The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is an independent agency of the United States federal government established in 1996. Casas Adobes (Spanish: "''Adobe Houses''") is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in the northern metropolitan area of Tucson, Arizona (in Pima County). Lydia Otero
Lydia R. Otero is an Chicanx/ Latinx historian and author. They are known for their work on marginalized communities in Arizona. Education and career Otero descends from the first family to have a land grant in Arizona. Otero was born in Tucson in 1955 and lived there until graduating from high school in 1973. Otero received a bachelor's degree in 1992 and a master's degree in 1995 from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). In 2003 they earned a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. Otero was a tenured professor in the Department of Mexican American Studies Department at the University of Arizona (2003-2020). KVOA (channel 4) is a television station in Tucson, Arizona, United States, affiliated with NBC and owned by Allen Media Broadcasting. The station's studios are located on West Elm Street north of downtown Tucson, and its primary transmitter is located atop Mount Bigelow, northeast of the city, supplemented by translators in the Tucson Mountains and in Sierra Vista.
