''Piha Rescue'' is a New Zealand reality series following the daily actions of the Piha Surf Life Saving Club lifeguards on the famous Piha surf beach. Piha is one of the many beaches located on the West Coast near Auckland. ''Piha Rescue'' started its lifespan with filming commencing for the first time in the summer of 2001, followed by a one-hour documentary airing December 2002 (aired as ''Piha Patrol''); making it the first reality show in the world following lifeguards. Piha Surf Life Saving Club (sometimes called Piha Lifeguard Service) is a surf lifesaving club for the southern section of Piha, on the west coast of Auckland Region, Auckland, New Zealand, some 45 km from the Auckland CBD, Auckland City centre. The patrol was featured in the Television New Zealand, TVNZ reality television, reality show ''Piha Rescue''. The club is the best-known of 17 surf lifesaving clubs in the Surf Life Saving Northern Region, Northern Region of New Zealand, and possibly one of the best-known surf lifesaving clubs in the entire country. ''Bondi Rescue'' is an Australian factual television program which was originally broadcast on Network 10 between 2006-2021 and will be broadcast on Paramount from 2023.
