Spencer James Pigot (born September 29, 1993) is an American racing driver who currently drives in the IMSA SportsCar Championship. Personal life Pigot was born in Los Angeles and raised Pasadena, California, and Orlando where he graduated from Windermere Preparatory School. He currently resides in Indianapolis. Racing career Early career After a successful career in youth karting, Pigot joined the Skip Barber National Championship in 2010 and won the title and a Mazdaspeed scholarship. Neil Pigot (born 28 December 1961) is an Australian actor who is perhaps best known in Australia for his role as Inspector Falcon Price in the highly successful television series ''Blue Heelers''. Edward Francis Pigot (18 September 1858 – 22 May 1929) was an Irish-born Australian Jesuit priest, seismologist and astronomer. He was president of the New South Wales branch of the British Astronomical Association in 1923-24 and a council member of the Royal Society of New South Wales from 1921 to 1929. Pigot was born in Dundrum, Ireland, the son of David Richard Pigot junior ( master of the Court of Exchequer) and Christina (née Murray), daughter of Sir James Murray, a well-known doctor and his first wife Mary Sharrock. His paternal grandparents were David Richard Pigot, Chief Baron of the Irish Exchequer and Catherine Page. Edward was initially educated by tutors at home and a governess. John Edward Pigot
John Edward Pigot (1822–1871) was an Irish music collector and lawyer, who played a key role in the foundation of the National Gallery of Ireland. Life Pigot was born in Kilworth, Co. Cork, the eldest son of the Chief Baron of the Irish Exchequer, David Richard Pigot and his wife Catherine Page. He became friendly with Thomas Davis and Charles Gavan Duffy of the Young Ireland movement. They published advertisements in The Nation asking those who had Irish tunes to send them in. This started the Pigot Collection. He studied for the Bar in London and while there met Patrick McDowel. He was an avid collector and gave Pigot many tunes which he added to among the Irish in London. While in London, Pigot and Duffy paid a call on Thomas Carlyle and his wife Jane Carlyle in April 1845 in order to defend the Irish and Irish Nationalism against Carlyle's attacks in '' On Chartism'' and other works. General Sir Henry Pigot GCMG (1750 – 7 June 1840) was a British Army officer. Military career Born the son of Admiral Hugh Pigot, Pigot was commissioned as a cornet in 1769. He served in the Netherlands in 1793 and, following the Siege of Malta, accepted the surrender of Valletta from the French forces under General Claude-Henri Belgrand de Vaubois in September 1800. He went on to be Civil Commissioner of Malta in February 1801. As civil commissioner, he accepted the demolition of the majority of the fortifications of Valletta, but this act was never done and the city walls survive largely intact to this day. Pigot was colonel of the 82nd Regiment of Foot (1798–1836) and then of the 38th Regiment of Foot (1836–1840). Pigot Baronets
The Pigot Baronetcy, of Patshull Hall in the County of Stafford, is a title in the Baronetage of Great Britain. It was created on 5 December 1764 for the politician and colonial administrator George Pigot, with remainder to his brothers General Robert Pigot and Admiral Hugh Pigot, and remains extant. On 19 January 1766 Pigot was further honoured when he was raised to the Peerage of Ireland as Baron Pigot, with normal remainder to the heirs male of his body. Lord Pigot was unmarried (although he left several natural children; see below) and on his death in 1777 the barony became extinct. He was succeeded in the baronetcy according to the special remainder by his brother, Robert, the second Baronet. He was a distinguished soldier. George Pigot, 1st Baron Pigot
George Pigot, 1st Baron Pigot (4 March 1719 – 11 May 1777) was twice the British President of the British East India Company. Life Pigot was the eldest son of Richard Pigot of Westminster, by his wife Frances, daughter of Peter Goode, a Huguenot who had come to England in the late seventeenth century. Frances was a "" to Queen Caroline. His brothers were Admiral Hugh Pigot (1722–1792) and Sir Robert. Pigot entered the service of the East India Company in 1736, at the age of 17; after nineteen years he became governor and commander-in-chief of Madras in 1755.
