Alexander Pietrangelo (born January 18, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain for the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the St. Louis Blues for parts of twelve seasons, captaining the Blues for his final four seasons with the franchise. Nicknamed "Petro", as a junior, he played with the Niagara IceDogs and Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Amelia Filomena Pietrangelo (born July 14, 1993) is a Canadian soccer player who plays as a striker. Early life Born in Laval, Quebec, Pietrangelo began playing soccer at the age of four for CS Monteuil. She began to play competitively at the age of eight with players a year older than herself. As a child, Pietrangelo also participated in gymnastics and figure skating. Aged 14, she received her first call-up to Quebec's provincial team to play at the Canadian Championships and was subsequently scouted by the Canadian national team. Frank Pietrangelo (born December 17, 1964) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Pietrangelo started his National Hockey League career with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1988, winning the Stanley Cup in 1991. He also played for the Hartford Whalers. He left the NHL after the 1994 season. He played several more years in the IHL with the Minnesota Moose, Italy with HC Bolzano and Asiago Hockey AS, Germany in the DEL with Kaufbeurer Adler, and England in the BISL with the Manchester Storm before retiring after the 2001 season. Pietrangelo Pettenò (Mestre, 6 January 1960) is an Italian politician from Veneto. Pettenò, a flight engineer, started his political career in the 1980s with the Italian Communist Party (PCI). In 1991 he opposed the transformation of the party into the Democratic Party of the Left (PDS) and was a founding member of the Communist Refoundation Party (PRC) instead. Thus, he was three times elected (2000, 2005 and 2010) with the PRC to the Regional Council of Veneto. Between 2000 and 2005 Pettenò served also as municipal councillor in Venice. In March 2015 Pettenò, who wanted a fourth term as regional councillor and to support Alessandra Moretti of the Democratic Party (PD) for President in the 2015 regional election, left the PRC and launched Venetian Left (SV).
