Pieter Gerkens
Pieter Gerkens (born 13 August 1995) is a Belgian professional association football, footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Belgian club K.A.A. Gent, Gent. Career Gerkens made his professional debut for K.R.C. Genk, Genk at 28 November 2013 in a UEFA Europa League game against FC Dynamo Kyiv, Dynamo Kyiv as an 88th-minute substitute. At 1 December 2013, he made his league debut against Oud-Heverlee Leuven. Three days later, he was a starter in the Belgian Cup against KV Mechelen, Mechelen. After 61 minutes, he was replaced for Anthony Limbombe. On 12 June 2023, Gerkens signed a four-year contract with K.A.A. Gent, Gent. Bilzen
Bilzen () is a city and a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg. In 2021, Bilzen had a total population of 32,536. The total area is 75.90 km² which gives a population density of 426 inhabitants per km². Bilzen consists of the city of Bilzen and the following villages: , Eigenbilzen, , , , , , , , Rijkhoven, , and . It was in 1977 that they all became part of the municipality Bilzen because of the fusion of municipalities. Cities in Bilzen's neighbourhood are all within a distance of some 10 to 15 kilometers: to its north, Genk; to its east, Maastricht (Netherlands); to its south Tongeren; and to its north-west, Diepenbeek. From 1965 to 1981 Bilzen hosted Jazz Bilzen, a jazz and rock festival that lasted several days. In its time Jazz Bilzen was the most important Belgian festival. Anthony Limbombe Ekango (born 15 July 1994) is a Belgian professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Midfielder#Winger, winger or Forward (association football), forward for Challenger Pro League club S.K. Beveren, Beveren. Club career Racing Genk Born in Mechelen, Limbombe began his youth career with K.V. Mechelen, Mechelen in 2000. In 2005, he joined Belgian Pro League side K.R.C. Genk, Racing Genk. He made his first team (association football)#F, first team debut at the age of 16 in a 3–1 victory at Sporting Lokeren, Lokeren on 18 September 2010. He also played for Genk in the UEFA Champions League, Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. During his career with Racing Genk he won the Belgian Pro League in 2010–11 season, and he also won the Belgian Super Cup in 2011, in total he scored 2 goals in 62 League appearances. Belgian Pro League
The Belgian Pro League,(officially the Jupiler Pro League due to sponsorship reasons with Jupiler), is the top league competition for association football clubs in Belgium. Contested by 18 clubs since the 2020–21 season and reduced to 16 teams from the 2023–24 season onwards, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Challenger Pro League. Seasons run from early August to late April, with teams playing 34 matches each in the regular season, and then entering Play-offs I (also known as the ''Championship Playoff'', ''title playoffs'' or ''Champions' play-offs'') or Play-offs II (also known as the ''Europa League playoff'' or ''Europe play-offs'') according to their position in the regular season. The 2015–16 season of the Belgian Pro League (also known as ''Jupiler Pro League'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 113th season of top-tier football in Belgium. It started in the last week of July 2015 and finished in May 2016. Gent were the defending champions. This was the last season under the "Pro League" name; a reorganisation of the Belgian professional leagues followed the season, with the top league to be known from 2016–17 forward as "First Division A". Changes from 2014–15 Structural changes Some changes were introduced in comparison to the previous season, with the most important one being the relegation rules.
