Pieter Celie (born 1942 in Eindhoven) is a Dutch artist Biography Pieter Celie (born Theodor Geert van de Built) was born in Eindhoven in 1942, son of the photographer Bernardt van de Built. Celie trained his artistic skills in the Eindhoven’s Academy for Industrial Design (1967–1969) and later in the Antwerp’s National Institute for the Arts.Jacobs, P.M.J. Design Academy Eindhoven is an interdisciplinary educational institute for art, architecture and design in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The work of its faculty and alumni have brought it international recognition, and is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading design schools. The history of Western painting represents a continuous, though disrupted, tradition from antiquity until the present time. Until the mid-19th century it was primarily concerned with representational and Classical modes of production, after which time more modern, abstract and conceptual forms gained favor. Initially serving imperial, private, civic, and religious patronage, Western painting later found audiences in the aristocracy and the middle class.
