Pieter Aldrich
Pieter ("Piet") Aldrich (born 7 September 1965) is a former professional tennis player from South Africa. A doubles specialist, he won two Grand Slam men's doubles titles ( Australian Open and US Open) and became the world No. 1 in doubles in 1990. Career Aldrich won the first of nine career doubles titles in 1988 at Charleston, South Carolina. In 1990, Aldrich won the men's doubles titles at both the Australian Open and the US Open, partnering his fellow South African player Danie Visser Danie Visser (born 26 July 1961) is a former professional tennis player from South Africa. A doubles specialist, he won three Grand Slam men's doubles titles (two Australian Open and one US Open). Visser reached the world No. 1 doubles rankin .... The pair were also doubles runners-up at Wimbledon that year. 1990 also saw Aldrich win his first (and only) top-level singles title at Newport, Rhode Island. Vereeniging
Vereeniging () is a town located in the south of Gauteng province, South Africa, situated where the Klip River empties into the northern loop of the Vaal River. It is also one of the constituent parts of the Vaal Triangle region and was formerly situated in the Transvaal Province, Transvaal province.
