Piet De Ruiter
Piet Arie de Ruiter (23 April 1939 – 15 August 2014) was a Dutch politician. He served as a member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands between 1971 and 1976 for the Labour Party. He also served on the Public Body Rijnmond. De Ruiter was born in Schiedam, in the late 1960s he served in the municipal council of Krimpen aan den IJssel. In 1965 he finished his study of economy at the Nederlandse Economische Hogeschool. He was editor of the magazine ''Economisch-Statistische Berichten'' (English: ''Economic-Statistic Messages'') between 1965 and 1971. In 1970 he was elected to the council of the Public Body Rijnmond, he was elected there a further three times until 1982. Between 1976 and 1980 he held the executive portfolio for economic affairs, utilities and education in the Body. The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. It has 150 seats, which are filled through elections using party-list proportional representation. Schiedam
Schiedam () is a city and municipality in the west of the Netherlands. It is located in the Rotterdam–The Hague metropolitan area, west of Rotterdam, east of Vlaardingen, and south of Delft. In the south the city is connected with the village of Pernis, Netherlands, Pernis by the Beneluxtunnel. The city is known for its historical center with canals, and for having the tallest windmills in the world. Capelle Aan Den IJssel
Capelle aan den IJssel (; en, Capelle on the IJssel) is a small city and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality had a population of in , and covers an area of , of which is water. It is situated on the eastern edge of Rotterdam, on the Hollandse IJssel river. The town has what is probably the country's smallest museum, the Dief en Duif huis ("House of Thieves and Pigeons"). Krimpen aan den IJssel () is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality had a population of in , and covers an area of of which is water. History Krimpen is first mentioned in a document from 1277. Like other hamlets, many different spellings of its name have occurred over time, among which the name ''Tingenijssel'' deviated the most from today's spelling. The municipality is on the south shore of the river Hollandse IJssel. For many centuries, the only buildings in Krimpen were farm houses built along the river dike.
