Baron Pierre Dubois Davaugour (before 1620–1664) was the French soldier and Governor of New France from 1661 to 1663. He was related to the old family who were counts and dukes of Penthièvre in Brittany. Davaugour was a carrier soldier (40 years) in the French Army and died while fighting against Turks in Serinvans-Zrin at a fortress (likely Zrin Castle) on the border with French ally and Habsburg controlled Kingdom of Croatia during the Austro-Turkish War. Pierre Joseph Dubois
Pierre Joseph Dubois (21 November 1852 - 17 January 1924) was a French World War I general. Education Dubois entered the École spéciale militaire de Saint-Cyr in 1872, and on October 1, 1874, was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the cavalry. Military career and leadership During his early years of military service, he participated in the Pacification of Algeria in 1882 and Tunisia in 1885. He became commander of the 1st Cavalry Division in 1909 and at the start of World War I, he was at the head of the 9th Army Corps. He fought in the Battles of the Marne and Ypres before coming commander of the French Sixth Army between March 1915 and February 1916, when he was put into reserve. In June 1916 he received a new assignment as Commander of the 5th Military Region in Orléans. Put on the reserve list again in April 1917, he was reactivated in the summer of 1917 for a few months and took over the command of the 11th Military Region in Nantes. Pierre Max Dubois, sometimes given as Pierre-Max Dubois (1 March 1930 – 29 August 1995) was a French composer of classical music, conductor, and music educator. He was a student of Darius Milhaud, and though not widely popular, was respected. He brought the ideas of Les Six, of which his instructor was a member, into the mid-1900s. Pierre du Bois de Dunilac (May 5, 1943 at Herzogenbuchsee (canton of Bern) – June 23, 2007 in Pully), was a Swiss writer, political scientist, philanthropist and humanist. Biography After studying in Paris with masters like Fernand Braudel, Le Roy Ladurie, and especially Louis Aragon and Elsa Triolet, with whom he became friends he continued an academic career in Switzerland after earning his doctorate in letters to University of Lausanne. Pierre Dubois (born 19 July 1945), is a French specialist in enchantement . He is an author, Franco-Belgian comics scriptwriter, storyteller and lecturer on fairies and little people in France. Fascinated at a young age with fairy tales and Fairytale fantasy, he became an illustrator after studying Fine Arts for a short period. For over 30 years, he has integrated local legends and folklore into radio and television shows. He is the inventor of elficology (''elficologie'') as a name for the study of the "little people" (fairies and other similar beings), originally as a joke. His first comic book was published in 1986.
