Pierre Cassignard
Pierre Cassignard (19 December 1965 – 20 December 2021) was a French stage and screen actor. Early life Pierre Cassignard was born in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande in Grionde, France, on 19 December 1965. In the early 1980s, he moved to Paris to study theater, but wound up working in a production a few days later. He landed his first role in the play House & Garden in 1987. Television and Film followed quickly when he was cast in the TV series Haute Tension in 1988. Cassignard was well received. In 1996, he won the coveted Moliere for Best Actor in the Carlo Goldoni play The Venetian Twins. He was also nominated as Best Newcomer for the same role. Sainte-Foy-la-Grande
Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (; oc, Senta Fe la Granda) is a Communes of France, commune in the Gironde Departments of France, department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France. It is on the south bank of the Dordogne (river), Dordogne. History The town was founded in 1076, near a priory where Saint Faith, Sainte Foy was worshipped. The town grew rapidly, and it was renamed to Sainte-Foy-la-Grande in 1363 to distinguish it from towns with similar names in the region. A lot of the town is made from medieval buildings which date back to the 15th century. ''The Lover'' is a 1962 one-act play by Harold Pinter, originally written for television, but subsequently performed on stage. The play contrasts bourgeois domesticity with sexual yearning. As with the drama of Anton Chekhov, some of Pinter's plays support "serious" and "comic" interpretations; ''The Lover'' has been staged successfully both as an ironic comedy on the one hand and as a nervy drama on the other. As is often the case with Pinter, the play probably contains both. Plot Pinter leads the audience to believe that there are three characters in the play: the wife, the husband and the lover. Georges Feydeau
Georges-Léon-Jules-Marie Feydeau (; 8 December 1862 – 5 June 1921) was a French playwright of the era known as the Belle Époque. He is remembered for his farces, written between 1886 and 1914. Feydeau was born in Paris to middle-class parents and raised in an artistic and literary environment. From an early age he was fascinated by the theatre, and as a child he wrote plays and organised his schoolfellows into a drama group. ''On purge bébé'' (''Baby's Laxative'') is Jean Renoir's first sound film, based upon the play by Georges Feydeau. It is a 1931 comedy about a supposedly unbreakable chamberpot and a constipated baby. It is known for mocking the French bourgeoisie. Renoir made the film in a record three weeks (from script to finished film) in order to get backing for other projects. His next film was ''La Chienne''. Synopsis Mr. Follavoine seeks to sell unbreakable chamberpots to the French army.
