Piero Badaloni
Piero Badaloni (born 8 September 1946) is an Italian journalist and politician, President of Lazio from 1995 to 2000. Biography Journalistic career Badaloni began his journalistic career in 1971 in Rai, dealing with reports and surveys. For the services on the Irpinia earthquake, he was awarded in 1980 with the "chronicler of the year" award by the national Union of Italian chroniclers. From 1981 to 1984 and from 1991 to 1995, Badaloni was one of the hosts of TG1. Badaloni has also been the author and host of a series of journalistic programs, such as ''Unomattina''. After his term as President of Lazio ended, Badaloni returned to Rai and becomes a correspondent from the Paris office, then from Brussels, and finally from Berlin. Finally, from 2009 to 2011, Badaloni has been the correspondent from the Madrid office. Since February 2017, Badaloni is hosting the talk show ''Avanti il prossimo'' on TV2000. ''Avvenire'' (English: "Future") is an Italian daily newspaper which is affiliated with the Catholic Church and is based in Milan. The House of Freedoms ( it, Casa delle Libertà, CdL) was a major centre-right political and electoral alliance in Italy, led by Silvio Berlusconi. History The CdL was the successor of the Pole of Freedoms/Pole of Good Government and the Pole for Freedoms. The former two-headed coalition had won the 1994 general election and formed the Berlusconi I Cabinet, which fell in December 1994, when the LN, whose relations with AN were quite tense, withdrew its support. Alberto Michelini (born 25 July 1941) is an Italian journalist and politician, former Deputy and Member of the European Parliament. Biography Michelini began his journalistic career in the late 1970s as a host and special correspondent for the RAI news programme ''TG1''. He was one of the first to interview Pope John Paul II and later wrote ten books about his pontificate. In 1981, Michelini, as correspondent in the Vatican City, documented the Pope John Paul II assassination attempt. An expert on Vatican history, Michelini joined the Christian Democrats (DC), and was elected to the European Parliament in 1984 and 1989, and to the Chamber of Deputies in 1987 and 1992.
