Mark Robert Warner (born December 15, 1954) is an American businessman and politician serving as the senior United States senator from Virginia, a seat he has held since 2009. A member of the Democratic Party, Warner served as the 69th governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006. He is vice chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus and chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Warner is the honorary chairman of Forward Together PAC. Apart from politics, he is known for his involvement in telecommunications-related venture capital during the 1980s; he founded the firm Columbia Capital. Sean Thomas Connaughton (born February 25, 1961) is an American attorney who was the Secretary of Transportation for the Commonwealth of Virginia from 2010 until 2014. He served as the Administrator of the United States Maritime Administration, an agency of the United States Department of Transportation, from 2006 until early 2009. Connaughton served as Chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors from January 1, 2000 until his appointment as Maritime Administrator.
