Pico Codazzi Natural Monument
The Pico Codazzi Natural Monument ( es, Monumento Natural Pico Codazzi) Also Codazzi Peak Natural Monument Is a protected area with the status of a natural monument located in the Aragua State in the center of northern Venezuela. It was created in 1991 to connect the Henri Pittier National Park with the Macarao National Park and constitutes one of the highest peaks of the Cordillera de la Costa. It covers an area of 11,850 ha. Its highest peak, the Codazzi peak, also called the picacho, has height references that vary between 1818 msnm2 and 2429 msnm, making it one of the highest mountains of the Aragua State and the Cordillera de la Costa. The Pico Codazzi Natural Monument is located in the Ribas municipality. The eastern boundary of Pico Codazzi is determined by the road that connects La Victoria with Colonia Tovar. Aragua State
Aragua State ( es, Estado Aragua, ) is one of the 23 states of Venezuela. It is located in the north-central region of Venezuela. It has plains and jungles and Caribbean beaches. The most popular are Cata and Choroni. It has Venezuela's first national park which is called Henri Pittier. The capital is Maracay, other important cities include Turmero and El Limón. Henri Pittier National Park
Henri Pittier National Park is the oldest national park in Venezuela, originally created in 1937 under the name of ''Rancho Grande'' by decree of President Eleazar López Contreras. In 1953 the park was renamed in honor of Henri Pittier, a distinguished Swiss geographer, botanist and ethnologist, who arrived in Venezuela in 1917, classified more than 30,000 plants in the country and devoted many years studying the flora and fauna in the park. Henry Pittier National Park has the honor of having started the history of national parks of Venezuela. Its 107,800 hectares, located in the north of Aragua state, comprise most of the Araguan coast and mountainous area of Carabobo state. It also borders San Esteban National Park. Macarao National Park
The Macarao National Park ( es, Parque nacional Macarao) Is a protected area with the status of a national park located in the Macarao, San Pedro and Jarillo rivers, in the north of the South American country of Venezuela. Its extension of 15,000 hectares covers part of the Capital District and Miranda State. The area was declared National Park in 1973. It constitutes a zone of protection of hydrographic resources that contributes to satisfy the drinking water needs of the city of Caracas. It is characterized by a mountainous relief that forms part of the Cordillera de la Costa, the highest point of which is the Alto de Ño León. Colonia Tovar ( en, Tovar Colony) is a town of Venezuela, capital of the municipality Tovar in Aragua state. It is located about west of Caracas. It was founded on April 8, 1843, by a group of 390 immigrants from the then independent state of the Grand Duchy of Baden (later incorporated into Germany). It is characterized by the cultural imprint of its origin, so it is called "the Germany of the Caribbean". The economy depends primarily on agriculture and tourism. The Formaciones de Tepuyes Natural Monument also known as tepui ( es, Monumento Natural Formaciones de Tepuyes) Also Formaciones de Tepuyes Is a protected natural space since 1991, located in Venezuela more specifically in the states of Amazonas and Bolívar. Should not be confused with the Canaima national park that contains part of the tepuyes. The total area reaches 1,069,820 hectares of forest formations where mountain formations are known as tepuy (''tepui''). The tepuys are rock formations with flat peaks and vertical escarpments. Tepuys are residual forms of the Guayana Massif, constituted by sandstones, quartzites and granites of the pre-Inca era, with intrusions of dia- bric rocks. Ecosystems with endemic species have been developed at their summits and on their slopes. In the state of Bolívar there are twelve protected tepuy formations as a natural monument, while in the state of Amazonas thirteen have been selected.
