Pia Guerra
Pia Jasmin Guerra is an American-born Canadian comic book artist and editorial cartoonist, best known for her work as co-creator and lead penciller on the Vertigo title '' Y: The Last Man''. She has worked in the comics industry since the 1990s, and has also contributed to ''Doctor Who: The Forgotten'', along with DC and Marvel comics. Guerra regularly does cartoons for ''The New Yorker'', ''MAD'' Magazine and The Nib. She is the author of the Image Comics editorial cartoon book, ''Me The People''. Early life Guerra was born in Hoboken, New Jersey. At the age of 10, Guerra's cousin visited from Queens and introduced her to comics by leaving his issue of ''The Uncanny X-Men'' #129 on a coffee table in her house. An editorial cartoonist, also known as a political cartoonist, is an artist who draws editorial cartoons that contain some level of political or social commentary. Their cartoons are used to convey and question an aspect of daily news or current affairs in a national or international context. Political cartoonists generally adopt a caricaturist style of drawing, to capture the likeness of a politician or subject. Ian Boothby (born June 8, 1967) is a multiple Shuster Award, Harvey Award and Eisner Award nominee and an Eisner Award–winning comic book creator best known for his work as the lead writer on ''Simpsons Comics'' and ''Futurama Comics'' for Matt Groening's Bongo Comics. Bongo Comics Group was a comic book publishing company founded in 1993 by Matt Groening along with Steve & Cindy Vance and Bill Morrison. It published comics related to the animated television series ''The Simpsons'' and ''Futurama'', as well as the ''SpongeBob SquarePants'' comics, along with original material. The company was named after Bongo, a rabbit character in Groening's comic strip ''Life in Hell''. The following is a list of comic book series published by Bongo Comics based on the American animated television series ''The Simpsons''. The first comic strips based on ''The Simpsons'' appeared in 1991 in the magazine ''Simpsons Illustrated'' (not to be confused with the comic publications from 2012 bearing the same name), which was a companion magazine to the show. The comic strips were popular and a one-shot comic book entitled ''#Simpsons Comics and Stories, Simpsons Comics and Stories'', containing three different stories, was released in 1993 for the fans. Gareth David Lloyd (born 28 March 1981), known professionally as Gareth David-Lloyd, is a Welsh actor and writer best known for his role as Ianto Jones in the British science fiction series ''Torchwood.'' Early life He was born in Bettws, Newport. David-Lloyd's first acting role was as a robot in a junior school play.
