Physical Education Organization
The Physical Education Organization was an effort by the Government of Iran to promote the development of athletics and sporting activities of Iran. It was dissolved in late 2010 and its responsibilities transferred to the Ministry of Sport and Youth. The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran ( fa, نظام جمهوری اسلامی ایران, Neẓām-e jomhūrī-e eslāmi-e Irān, known simply as ''Neẓām'' ( fa, نظام, lit=the system) among its supporters) is the ruling state and current political system in Iran, in power since the Islamic revolution and fall of the Pahlavi dynasty in 1979. Mohsen Mehralizadeh ( fa, محسن مهرعلیزاده; born September 30, 1956) is an Iranian reformist politician and former Governor of Isfahan Province. He was a Vice President of Iran and the head of the National Sports Organization of Iran under President Khatami. He is an ethnic Turk. Mostafa Hashemitaba ( fa, مصطفی هاشمیطبا; born 22 May 1946) is an Iranian reformist politician. Hashemitaba served as Iran's minister of industries and vice president, as well as head of National Olympic Committee of Iran. He is described as having 'centrist' views. He was a candidate in the 2001 Iranian presidential election, and was placed 10th. He was also a candidate in the 2017 election. Hassan Ghafourifard ( fa, حسن غفوریفرد) (born 5 August 1943) is an Iranian academic and conservative politician. Ghafourifard held government portfolios in the 1980s, before being appointed as the Physical Education Organization under president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
