Phoenix Force (novel)
Phoenix Force is a series of men's action-adventure novels published from 1982-1991 and spanning 55 novels (and several anthologized short stories), following the exploits of the five-man, anti-terrorist team Phoenix Force. There were 51 novels in the ''Phoenix Force'' series, plus 4 ''Super Phoenix Force'' special editions. The characters also appeared in the three ''Heroes'' paperback anthologies published by Gold Eagle. The series ended in 1991 but the characters went on to star in the ''Stony Man'' series that followed. Phoenix Force is one of two neutralization teams working for Stony Man, a top-secret anti-terrorist organization. It is a spin-off of the ''Executioner'' series created by Don Pendleton. As with ''The Executioner'', the Phoenix Force novels have been written by a succession of authors under the pseudonym Gar Wilson. Stony Man is a fictional clandestine anti-terrorist organization featured in the Executioner series of action-adventure novels first published in 1983 by American Gold Eagle publishers. The first book in the series, ''Stony Man Doctrine'' was published as a king-size one-shot in 1983, which became regarded as the first oversized ''Super Bolan'' book. In 1991, the ''Stony Man'' series began with ''Stony Man'' #2 (picking up from the 1983 novel) and ran continuously for a total of 140 novels, ending in late 2015. Browning Hi-Power
The Browning Hi-Power is a single-action, semi-automatic pistol available in the 9×19mm Parabellum and .40 S&W calibers. It was based on a design by American firearms inventor John Browning, and completed by Dieudonné Saive at FN Herstal. Browning died in 1926, several years before the design was finalized. FN Herstal initially named the design the "High Power", which alludes to the 13-round magazine capacity, almost twice that of other designs at the time, such as the Luger or Colt M1911. During World War II, Belgium was occupied by Nazi Germany and the FN factory was used by the Wehrmacht to build the pistols for their military, under the designation "9mm Pistole 640(b)". SA80
The SA80 (Small Arms for the 1980s) is a British family of 5.56×45mm NATO service weapons used by the British Army. The L85 Rifle variant has been the standard issue service rifle of the British Armed Forces since 1987, replacing the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle. The first prototypes were created in 1976, with production of the A1 variant starting in 1985 and ending in 1994. The A2 variant came to be as the result of a significant upgrade in the early 2000s by Heckler & Koch and remains in service as of 2020. The A3 variant was first issued in 2018 with several new improvements. The remainder of the SA80 family comprises the L86 Light Support Weapon, the short-barrelled L22 Carbine and the L98 Cadet rifle.
