Phoenix (Warlocks Album)
''Phoenix'' (also known as the ''Phoenix Album'') is the second full-length album by American neo-psychedelic rock band the Warlocks. It was released in 2002 by record label Birdman, the band having been signed to this label following the success of their previous album, '' Rise and Fall''. The UK version was released by Mute in 2003, and featured a slightly different track listing and ordering, as well as an alternative cover. This version was accompanied by the release of "Shake the Dope Out" and "Baby Blue" as singles. The Warlocks
The Warlocks are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1998 by the guitarist/singer Bobby Hecksher. The band's music has ranged from psychedelic rock to drone music. ''Drowned in Sound'', sometimes abbreviated to ''DiS'', is a UK-based music webzine financed by artist management company Silentway. Founded by editor Sean Adams, the site features reviews, news, interviews, and discussion forums. History ''DiS'' began as an email fanzine in 1998 called ''The Last Resort'' but was relaunched by founder and editor Sean Adams as ''Drowned in Sound'' in 2000. The freelance writing team is currently spread across four continents – North America, Asia, Europe and Australasia. The Velvet Underground
The Velvet Underground was an American rock band formed in New York City in 1964. The original line-up consisted of singer/guitarist Lou Reed, multi-instrumentalist John Cale, guitarist Sterling Morrison, and drummer Angus MacLise. MacLise was replaced by Moe Tucker in 1965, who played on most of the band's recordings. Their integration of rock and the avant-garde achieved little commercial success during the group's existence, but they are now recognized as one of the most influential bands in rock, underground, experimental, and alternative music.
