Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Cheng Wen-hsing
Cheng Wen-hsing (; born 24 February 1982) is a Taiwanese former badminton player. She is now works as German national team coach. Career Cheng competed for Chinese Taipei in the 2004 Olympics in the women's doubles with partner Chien Yu-chin. They defeated Helen Nichol and Charmaine Reid of Canada in the first round but were defeated by Hwang Yu-mi and Lee Hyo-jung of South Korea in the round of 16. Cheng also competed in the mixed doubles with partner Tsai Chia-hsin. They defeated Chris Dednam and Antoinette Uys of South Africa in the first round, but lost to Zhang Jun and Gao Ling of China in the round of 16. During the 2008 Summer Olympics, Cheng again teamed with Chien Yu-chin in the women's doubles, reaching the quarter-finals. This pair also reached the quarter-finals at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Lu Lu (badminton)
Lu Lu (; born 29 September 1990) is a retired Chinese female badminton player. In 2008, she won gold medal in the mixed team event at the World Junior Championships. In the individual event, she won mixed doubles silver and girls' doubles bronze. She also competed at the Asian Junior Championships, and won the girls' doubles silver medal, and gold medals in the mixed team and doubles event. Partnered with Zhang Nan, Lu became the champion at the 2009 Philippines Open. In 2010, she became the women's doubles runner-up at the China Masters Super Series tournament with Bao Yixin. Zhang Nan (badminton)
Zhang Nan (; born 1 March 1990) is a Chinese badminton player who specializes in both men's and mixed doubles. He found much success in mixed doubles with his former partner Zhao Yunlei. They won gold in Badminton at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2012 Summer Olympics, 3 golds in BWF World Championships in 2011 BWF World Championships, 2011, 2014 BWF World Championships, 2014 and 2015 BWF World Championships, 2015 and a gold at the Badminton at the 2014 Asian Games, 2014 Asian Games. Wei Yili
Wei Yili (; born 24 June 1982) is a former badminton player from China. Career A women's doubles specialist, since 2001 Wei has competed on the world circuit in partnership with a variety of her fellow countrywomen, but most often with Zhang Jiewen, Zhao Tingting or Zhang Yawen. A member of China's perennial world champion Uber Cup teams, in the biggest events for individual players (such as the BWF World Championships, the All-England Championships, and the Olympic Games) Wei and her partners have usually been overshadowed by China's two dominant women's doubles pairs, Gao Ling and Huang Sui, and Yang Wei and Zhang Jiewen. Gao Ling (; born 14 March 1979) is a Chinese former badminton player. Career Noted for her consistency, anticipation, forecourt prowess, and sporting smile, Gao is one of the most successful doubles players in the history of women's badminton. Her four Olympic badminton medals are the most of any player. She has won titles at almost every top tier tournament in the world. Gao has earned four gold medals (among nine medals in total) at the BWF World Championships, three of them in women's doubles with Huang Sui (2001, 2003, and 2006) and one of them in mixed doubles with Zhang Jun (2001). Bona Septano (born 22 September 1987) is an Indonesian former badminton player. He currently works as pilot in Indonesian airlines. Bona Septano concentrates on men's doubles with Mohammad Ahsan. They have competed successfully on the international circuit including a finals appearances at the 2011 Japan Super Series. Unlike many other top doubles players he does not play in mixed doubles. Mohammad Ahsan
Mohammad Ahsan (born 7 September 1987) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Djarum club who specializes in the men's doubles. He is three-time World Champion, three-time season ending finals champion, and Asian Games gold medalist. Joining the Djarum club since 2007, opened Ahsan's opportunity to join the Indonesian national team until he finally implemented it in the middle of 2008. Paired with Bona Septano, they managed to win the bronze medal at the 2011 BWF World Championships, and were ranked as high as sixth in the BWF World Rankings. Wang Xin (badminton)
Wang Xin (; born 10 November 1985) is a retired badminton player from China and former World No. 1 women's singles player. She was awarded as Best Female Players of the Year by the BWF in 2010. Wang represented China in the 2012 Summer Olympics and had to forfeit the match in the bronze medal playoff game against Saina Nehwal of India in which she was 21–18, 1–0 up, due to a knee injury. After the Olympics, Wang Xin struggled to get back into competition but was never successful due to the severity of her injury.
