Philippine Basketball Association Best Player Of The Conference Award
The Philippine Basketball Association's Best Player of the Conference Award is given to the best local (Filipino or part-Filipino) player at the end of each conference (tournament). It was first awarded in the 1994 All-Filipino Conference. The Best Import Award is given to the best player (non-Filipino) at the end of each import-laden conference. Criteria The method of selecting the Best Player of the Conference is similar on how the season's Most Valuable Player is selected. The criteria used since the 2022–23 PBA season are as follows: *45% average statistical points *30% press and media votes *25% players' votes Statistical points (SP) are computed as follows: *1 SP for every point scored, rebound, assist, steal and blocked shot. *10 bonus points for every game won where the player played up to the semifinals. *15 bonus points for every game won where the player played in the Finals *Deduction of 1 SP for every turnover, 5 SP for every technical or flagrant foul without ... The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is a men's professional basketball league in the Philippines composed of twelve company-branded franchised teams. Founded in 1975, it is the first professional basketball league in Asia and is the second oldest continuously professional basketball league existing in the world after the NBA,Bartholomew, Rafe. Nelson Asaytono
Nelson Asaytono (born January 25, 1967) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player who played for Purefoods, Swift/Sunkist/Pop Cola, San Miguel Beer, and Red Bull in the PBA during his 17-year career. Collegiate / Amateur career Asaytono is one of the best players ever to step up in a less-known university in University of Manila under the tutelage of former pro Loreto Tolentino, his coach at UM Hawks. His first national stint was being part of the RP Youth team that played in the 9th ABC Youth Championships held in Manila. He would become a member of the national team that same year in 1987 under coach Joe Lipa. Asaytono also played for coach Derrick Pumaren at Magnolia Ice Cream in the PABL and won three championships. Marlou Bucao Aquino (born October 7, 1972) is a Filipino former professional basketball player and assistant coach for the Bacoor City Strikers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Alaska Aces (PBA)
The Alaska Aces were a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association since 1986 under the ownership of Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) and the owner of 14 PBA championships, tied with the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Magnolia Hotshots for the second-most titles overall. They are one of the most popular teams in the league and the Philippines. The Aces won nine PBA championships in the 1990s, including a rare grand slam (winning three championships in one season) during the 1996 season, joining the Crispa Redmanizers ( 1976, 1983), San Miguel Beermen (1989), and the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers ( 2013–14) as one of only four franchises to achieve the feat. Bong Hawkins
Rene "Bong" Hawkins Jr. (born November 6, 1967) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player of the Philippine Basketball Association. He is the son of character actor Rene Hawkins, Sr. PBA career Presto & Sta.Lucia A power forward with the good sense of timing inside the shaded area, Bong was drafted as the second overall pick in the 1991 PBA draft. The former Perpetual Help cager was chosen by Presto coach Jimmy Mariano when the Tivolis traded Manny Victorino to Pepsi.
