Philippe Martin (economist)
Philippe Joseph Martin (born January 18, 1966) is a French Professor of Economics at Sciences Po in Paris. He currently serves as chair of thFrench Council of Economic Analysis He is the Vice President and a research fellow at the London-based Centre for Economic Policy Research, CEPR (Centre for Economic Policy Research). Career Martin previously taught at the Graduate Institute of International Studies, the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne and the Paris School of Economics. From 2001 to 2002, he served as an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Martin's research focuses on international trade and macroeconomics, in addition to economic geography. He was the economic advisor (2015-2016) of Emmanuel Macron when he was Minister of the Economy. ''Le Monde'' (; ) is a French daily afternoon newspaper. It is the main publication of Le Monde Group and reported an average circulation of 323,039 copies per issue in 2009, about 40,000 of which were sold abroad. Thomas Piketty (; born 7 May 1971) is a French economist who is Professor of Economics at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences, Associate Chair at the Paris School of Economics and Centennial Professor of Economics in the International Inequalities Institute at the London School of Economics. Piketty's work focuses on public economics, in particular income and wealth inequality.
