Philipp II, Count Of Hanau-Lichtenberg
Philipp II of Hanau-Lichtenberg (born 31 May 1462 in Hanau; died: 22 August 1504 in Babenhausen) ruled the County of Hanau-Lichtenberg from 1480 until his death. Early life Philipp II was born on 31 May 1462 between 21:00 and 22:00, as the second son of the Count Philipp I, the Elder of Hanau-Babenhausen and his wife, Anna of Lichtenberg. He was baptized three days after the birth, in the St. Mary's Church in Hanau. His godparents were Konrad Brelle, abbot of Selbold Abbey, Wenceslaus of Cleves and Meze of Gemmingen, the widow of Eber-hard Waißen. His older brother, Johann, died young, so that Philipp succeeded his father as Count of Hanau-Babenhausen. Family Marriage and issue He married on 9 September 1480 with Anna of Isenburg-Büdingen (d. 1522). A papal dispensation had been necessary for this marriage because they were related to each other in the fourth degree. Philipp I, Count of Hanau-Lichtenberg (also known as ''Philipp the Elder''; born: 8 November 1417 at Windecken Castle in Windecken, now part of Nidderau; died: 10 May 1480 in Ingweiler, now called: Ingwiller) was Count of Hanau. The county was divided between him and his nephew, Count Philipp I "the Younger". Reinhold Röhricht
Gustav Reinhold Röhricht (18 November 1842 – 2 May 1905) was a German historian of the Crusades. Biography He was born in Bunzlau in Silesia (now Bolesławiec, Poland), the third son of a miller. He studied at the Gymnasium in Sagan (now Żagań) from 1852 to 1862, and then attended the Berlin Theological School, where he obtained his licentiate in 1866. He then taught at the Berlin School of Religion, teaching Hebrew and German to the upperclassmen and Latin and Greek to the younger students. From 1867 to 1868 he taught at the Dorotheenstädtische Realgymnasium, then at the Luisenstädtische Realschule until 1875. From then until 1904 he taught at the Humboldtgymnasium, first as Oberlehrer and after 1882 as Professor. In 1904, due to poor health, the Prussian Ministry of Education forced him to retire with a pension. Ulrich IV, Lord of Hanau (1330/40–1380) was Lord of Hanau from 1369 or 1370 until his death. Based on the estimated year his parents married, he is assumed to have been born between 1330 and 1340. He was the son of Ulrich III of Hanau and Adelaide of Nassau. Reign Ulrich IV succeeded his father when he died in late 1369 or early 1370. The exact date of Ulrich III's death has not been recorded. Imperial policies On 20 March 1371, Duke Wenceslas of Bohemia, acting as the representative of his father, Emperor Charles IV, appointed Ulrich IV as governor of the Wetterau, a position his father had held before him. Reinhard II of Hanau ( – 26 June 1451 in Hanau) was Lord of Hanau and from 1429 Count of Hanau. He was one of the most important member of the House of Hanau. Youth The exact date of his birth is not known, not even the exact year, because in the Middle Ages a person's death date was considered far more important than their birth date, since a memorial mass would be celebrated on the death date. Klingenberg am Main is a town in the Miltenberg district in the ''Regierungsbezirk'' of Lower Franconia (''Unterfranken'') in Bavaria, Germany.
