Philip Pfeifer
Philip James Pfeifer (born July 15, 1992) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Canberra Cavalry of the Australian Baseball League. He previously played college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores of Vanderbilt University. Amateur career Pfeifer graduated from Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee. He played for the school's baseball team, and set a state record by recording 46 wins. He enrolled at Vanderbilt University to play college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team. In 2012, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Pfeifer was suspended for the 2014 season due to substance abuse issues, but returned to the team in 2015. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. The Mississippi Braves, or M-Braves as they are referred to locally, are a Minor League Baseball team based in Pearl, Mississippi, a suburb of Jackson. The team is the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and plays in the Southern League. The team is owned and operated by Endeavor. Endeavor purchased the Braves from Liberty Media in 2022. Carolina Mudcats
The Carolina Mudcats are a Minor League Baseball team of the Carolina League and the Single-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. They are located in Zebulon, North Carolina, a suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina, Raleigh, and play their home games at Five County Stadium. "Mudcats" is Southern slang for catfish. In Major League Baseball, a player to be named later (PTBNL) is an unnamed player involved in exchange or "trade" of players between teams. The terms of a trade are not finalized until a later date, most often following the conclusion of the season. Postponing a trade's final conditions or terms is often done for several reasons. First, the team receiving the PTBNL might not be certain which position they want to fill, so this type of deal gives them more time to figure it out. Second, this type of arrangement gives the team receiving the PTBNL more time to evaluate the available talent on the other team. Career Atlanta Braves Dirks attended Woodcrest Christian High School and California Baptist University in Riverside, California.
