Philip Parham
Philip John Parham (born 14 August 1960) is a British diplomat. He was educated at Eton College and Christ Church, Oxford. He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1993, served as UK High Commissioner to Tanzania from 2006 to 2009, as Ambassador and UK Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York from 2009 to 2013, and as UK Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates from 2014 to 2018. In 2018 he was appointed to be the UK's Envoy to the Commonwealth. Parham was appointed Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) in the 2015 New Year Honours "for services to British multilateral foreign policy interests". The Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George is a British order of chivalry founded on 28 April 1818 by George IV, George IV, Prince of Wales, while he was acting as prince regent for his father, George III, King George III. It is named in honour of two military saints, Michael (archangel), Michael and Saint George, George. The Order of St Michael and St George was originally awarded to those holding commands or high position in the Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean territories acquired in the Napoleonic Wars, and was subsequently extended to holders of similar office or position in other territories of the British Empire. 2015 New Year Honours
The New Year Honours 2015 were appointments by some of the 16 Commonwealth realms to various orders and honours to recognise and reward good works by citizens of those countries. The ''Daily Express'' is a national daily United Kingdom middle-market newspaper printed in tabloid format. Published in London, it is the flagship of Express Newspapers, owned by publisher Reach plc. It was first published as a broadsheet in 1900 by Sir Arthur Pearson. Its sister paper, the ''Sunday Express'', was launched in 1918. In June 2022, it had an average daily circulation of 201,608. Mary Rose Helen "Coky" Giedroyc (; born 6 February 1963) is an English director known for her work on ''Women Talking Dirty'', '' The Virgin Queen'', ''The Nativity'', and ''Penny Dreadful''. Early life Giedroyc was born in Kowloon on 6 February 1963. She grew up in Leatherhead, Surrey. Her father was Michal Giedroyc (1929–2017), a historian of Polish-Lithuanian descent from the aristocratic Giedroyć family, who came to England in 1947. Her mother, Rosy, is of English descent.
