Philip Hogarty
Philip David Hogarty (18 April 1988 – 1 January 2008) was chairman of the Irish Chess Union from September 2006 until his death in January 2008. Career Hogarty began playing chess in 6th class in primary school at the age of 12. In 2004 he won the Leinster Schools Under 16 Championship. In 2005, he represented Leinster at the Inter-Provincials, playing as board 5 on the U19 team. In December that year, he finished unbeaten with 4.5 points out of 6 games in the Leinster Championships Challengers section. He finished in joint 2nd place. In 2006, he played on the top board for DIT in the Irish Intervarsities helping them to achieve a third-place finish. After moving to the Rathmines Chess Club, he played on the top board in the Heidenfeld Memorial amassing 9 points out of 11 to finish as the competition's top scorer for the 2006/2007 season. Irish Chess Union
The Irish Chess Union (ICU; ), is the governing body for chess in Ireland since its formation in 1912. ICU is a member of FIDE since 1933 and the European Chess Union. The ICU promotes chess in Ireland and maintains the chess rating for players registered with the ICU, which are published monthly. It runs competitions such as the Irish Chess Championship and selects teams to participate in international competitions for Ireland. Blessington Road
The N81 road is a national secondary road in Ireland, from the M50 motorway to Tullow, County Carlow, north to south. The N81 continues past Tullow for another 8 km to terminate at the village of Closh, County Carlow, where it intersects the N80. The N81 is longroute map. The road is a dual carriageway between M50 motorway and west of Tallaght, known as the Tallaght Bypass or Blessington Road. It intersects with the M50 motorway at Junction 11. Jobstown
Jobstown (; ) is a suburb of Tallaght, and so an outer suburb of Dublin, in the administrative county of South Dublin, Ireland. History Jobstown takes its name from Henry Jope, who held land here in the 1250s. Jobstown was historically a small rural farming community three kilometres from Tallaght village, close to the western foothills of the Dublin Mountains. The only landmark in the area was the public house called the Jobstown House. The censuses of 1901 and 1911 showed that the population was low, and consisted mostly of farmers. Today, it is a densely populated suburb. According to the 2011 census, carried out by the central statistics office, Jobstown had a population of 16,616.
