Philip Brennan (born 1983) is a hurler for Dublin and O'Tooles. Philip captained Dublin to victory against Westmeath in the 2006 Liam MacCarthy Cup and has continued his role as Dublin Senior Hurling captain in 2007. O'Tooles GAA
O'Tooles GAC (Irish: ''Cumann Uí Thuathail'') is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Ayrfield, Dublin, Ireland, formed in 1901. History Early years O'Tooles GAC was formed in 1901 at 100 Seville Place in the north inner city of Dublin from the Gaelic League branch. The Gaelic League branch held their inaugural meeting in February 1901. Francis Cahill was one of the founding members of the club and Brother J.A. O’Mahoney, who was superior of O'Connell School was elected as the first president. On Thursday 8 October 1901, after Irish classes the clubs first hurling team was formed. The captain of the team was Edward Keegan with Thomas Keegan elected as secretary and John Taylor as treasurer. In 1905 the club won their first competition, captained by Tim O'Neill, they won the Saturday Junior Hurling League. Stephen Hiney
Stephen Hiney (born 27 October 1983) is a Hurling, hurler for Ballyboden St Enda's GAA, Ballyboden St Enda's and formerly Dublin GAA, Dublin. Hiney was the 2008 captain of the Dublin Senior Hurling team. Hiney won his first Dublin Senior Hurling Championship medal with his club Ballyboden St Enda's in October 2007 his second in 2008, his third (with a sore leg) in 2009 and his fourth in 201The 2007 Dublin championship win qualified Ballyboden to play in their first ever Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship game against Oulart-The Ballagh of Wexford GAA, Wexford. Dual Players
Dual player or dual star is a term used in Hiberno-English to describe someone who competes in multiple sports — for example, in Victorian Ireland, cricket and hurling. The term today in Gaelic games typically describes a male player who plays both Gaelic football and hurling or, if a female player, a player of ladies' Gaelic football and camogie. The player does not necessarily have to play at the same standard in both sports. The number of dual stars at county level has decreased recently due to the increasing demands placed upon the best players of both sports. David Curtin
David Curtin (born 13 September 1980) is an inter-county hurling player who plays for Dublin. He plays his club hurling for Dublin side Ballyboden St Enda's. In 2005, he will be remembered for his astounding performance against Laois which confirmed Dublins All-Ireland status for the 2006 championship. Curtin finished the game with an impressive scoreline of 1-7. In the 2006 All-Ireland championship, this feat was repeated when Dublin swept aside Westmeath to once retain their Liam MacCarthy Cup status. He finished the 2006 championship with a scoreline of 0-33, a scoreline which left him 5th of the top scorer list despite Dublins lack of progress in the All-Ireland championship. The GAA Football Under-20 All-Ireland Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the EirGrid GAA Football Under-20 All-Ireland Championship) is an annual inter-county Gaelic football competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in Ireland. The Dublin Senior Hurling Championship ( ga, Craobh Sinsear Iomána Átha Cliath) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Dublin GAA, Dublin County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (Gaelic Athletic Association, GAA) since 1887 for the top hurling clubs in County Dublin, Ireland. Sixteen clubs compete. Initially the teams are divided into four groups of four with the group matches being played from April to May with a break to accommodate the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, All-Ireland Championship and resume during August or September. The group stage is followed by a Tournament#Knock-out tournaments, knock-out phase which takes place during the months of October and November.
