Philip Allen Bennett
Philip Allen Bennett (March 5, 1881 – December 7, 1942) was a Republican politician from the state of Missouri. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives for Missouri's 6th District during the 77th Congress. Prior to that Bennett was the 31st Lieutenant Governor of Missouri and served in the Missouri Senate. Biography Philip A. Bennett was born near Buffalo, Missouri to Marion F. and Mary Jane (O'Bannon) Bennett, the eighth of fourteen children. Following his graduation from Buffalo High School Bennett attended Springfield Normal and Business College (now Missouri State University), earning his degree in 1902. He taught two years in Missouri public schools and worked for the Frisco Railroad before purchasing the ''Buffalo Reflex'' newspaper in 1904. Philip Bennett is an American journalist and professor of journalism and public policy at Duke University. Bennett began his career at '' The Lima Times'' in Peru before joining the staffs of '' The Boston Globe'' (1984–1997) and '' The Washington Post'' (1997–2009). He was managing editor at ''The Post'' from 2005 to 2009, a period during which the newspaper won 10 Pulitzer Prizes. He was previously deputy national editor of national security, defense and foreign policy coverage, and assistant managing editor for foreign news at ''The Post''. Phil Bennett
Philip Bennett (24 October 1948 – 12 June 2022) was a Welsh rugby union player who played as a fly-half for Llanelli RFC and the Wales national team. He began his career in 1966, and a year later he had taken over from Barry John as Llanelli's first-choice fly-half. He made 414 appearances for the Scarlets over the course of a 15-year career. He made his Wales debut in 1969, but it was not until John's retirement from rugby in 1972 that Bennett became a regular starter for his country. He led Wales to three Five Nations Championship titles, including Grand Slams in 1976 and 1978, the second of which marked his retirement from Wales duty. Bennett also toured with the British Lions to South Africa in 1974, when they went unbeaten in 22 matches, and to New Zealand in 1977, and also made 20 appearances for the Barbarians between 1970 and 1980; he played a pivotal role in the win over New Zealand in 1973, considered by many to be the best rugby union match ever played. Phil Bennett (born 6 October 1971 in Kingswinford) is a British auto racing driver. He started circuit racing in 1998 with a one make Rover 216GTi, racing in the BRSCC Super Coupe Cup - finishing 2nd. He then finished 3rd in the 1999 Renault Spider Cup. In 2001 he joined Team Egg Sport to race a Vauxhall Astra in the BTCC, in the first year of BTC-Touring regulations. Against a thin field he came 4th overall, behind only the other Vauxhalls of Jason Plato, Yvan Muller and James Thompson. For 2002 and 2003 he raced for Proton's unsuccessful factory team. Phil Bennett (born December 3, 1955) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the Interim Head Coach at North Texas. Prior to this, he spent three seasons out of coaching. He has previously served as the defensive coordinator at Arizona State Sun Devils in 2017, the defensive coordinator for the Baylor Bears from 2011-2016, and was interim head coach of the Pittsburgh Panthers during their 2011 BBVA Compass Bowl win over Kentucky after serving as defensive coordinator of the Panthers for three seasons. Prior to coaching the Panthers, he served as the head football coach at Southern Methodist University (SMU) from 2002 to 2007. Before his stint at SMU, he served as an assistant coach at seven different colleges. General Sir Phillip Harvey Bennett, (born 27 December 1928) is a retired senior officer of the Australian Army who served as Chief of the Australian Defence Force from 1984 to 1987, and later as Governor of Tasmania from 1987 to 1995. Early life Bennett was born in Perth, Western Australia, and educated at Perth Modern School and the Royal Military College, Duntroon, from which he graduated as a lieutenant on 14 December 1948. With 13 other new officers, he was posted in March 1949 to 67 Infantry Battalion, The Australian Regiment, then in the British Commonwealth Occupation Force, Japan.
